4chan is calling. it wants its meme back. there are games on the ps3 and next year will be an even better year. BUT, this topic had nothing to do with consoles aside from the fact that the ps3 is the cheapest blueray player on the market. it is what is boosting the sales of BR. that format is winning now and i have a feeling sony could finally win a format war this time around. consumers are a bit stupid, HD-DVD still has DVD in it and doesnt sound too new. BR sounds so..."futuristic" and blue is one of the most common favorite colors. i know it sounds dumb but very few consumers make technological purchases based on stats. its all about what is most flashy and new.

I am not an HD-dvd fanboy, I just hate how greed Sony is. They helped develop HD-dvd with Toshiba and then decided they could possibly make more money if they start a format war. The PS3 was rushed to the market just for the sake of getting a cheap blu-ray player out to compete with HD-dvd. That said, it looks like the only thing that will save HD-dvd is if Microsoft comes out with a new Xbox that has an HD-dvd drive in it. Even if blu-ray proves to be the winner of this stupid format war, Microsoft still wouldn't put a blu-ray drive in their next Xbox because they would have to pay Sony for every console and game that uses that technology. They would be financially supporting their biggest competitor.

Sony didn't rush the PS3 into the market in fact they delayed it. 360 was the first console out and they rushed that out since, to get a head start first and besides not adding the HD-DVD on all systems, they had bugs in them. Which caused RRoD. So you need to learn the facts. @Khjar No they didn't do this on purpose, Sometimes superior hardware takes awhile to get games out. While they were plaining for the future with their system, like they always do, they knew adding the Cell and Blu-ray will benefit them in the long run. And they're right. And i don't see how this really talks about consoles it talks about Blu-ray and HD-DVD so please don't turn this into a flame war.

And people thought he was me but they are wrong. Since people have to register now it doesn't matter to me. Even i thought it was him at first but noticed the difference.
