Uru Live Lives! |
Ó
Myst fans who were torn form the joys of Uru Live on February 4th, 2004. The small, quiet MMORPG that was based off of Uru: Ages Beyond Myst failed due to lack of subscribers. Several sites remained after the tragedy in vein hopes to revive the game. Those vein hopes have turned into realities. On May 9th, Cyan (the driving company behind the original game) announced that Uru Live will be added to GameTap's extensive collection of games this holiday season for no extra charge added to the monthly bill. This excellent MMORPG will make GameTap's already great service even better. For more E3 coverage and news, be sure to check out this page.

Finally! I get to play Uru online. I bought this game for the multiplayer aspect, but had to put up with single-player until I had broadband connected. And to my dismay - they had cancelled the service!!! It still won't live up to its promise of an evolving Myst world with constantly updating puzzles, but it will give us an opportunity to see what it would've been like. Thanks, Gametap
I don't see anywhere that says the online service has been re-enabled. Only that you can play Uru through Gametap. That'd be offline mode, from what I can see. It's a great game, but everyone who cares already owns the game. Ubi/Cyan recently announced there was a possibility that the online service would be revived (and with it, new worlds to explore) but I'll believe it when I see it.
