With the E3 2007 well under way in Santa Monica, we've been looking at plenty of updates from Sony's recently concluded conference. Sony's Phil Harrison was on-site during the event, and after making a couple of major announcements - the new Killzone 2 E3 trailer to name a few - brought up PlayStation Home.

Jack went on to discuss Home's new updates, which included the capability to run the service off your mobile phones. That doesn't include the capability to run your 3D avatars, although you can upload images taken from your mobile directly into your own space in Home (no word if it'll work with an iPhone).

Demonstrated for Home were some possible options for your "private space," including a virtual mock-up of the mansion of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Harrison's own avatar was shown to have his very own Norwegian ski lodge. PS3 owners aren't the only ones to benefit from the personalized space: Harrison explained that Publishers can also to create game-specific lounges which will function as play areas, and a Home-based discussion hub.

Another Home feature Harrison reiterated on was the service's common PSP interface, which allowed users to meet friends and launch games directly from Home. That's the latest that's been unveiled for Home at the moment. With the E3 still building up momentum, we suggest you drop by in case we pick up more related updates.

Straight to the games

Cool, it's official. You can launch into any game from within Home. Woo! Question: When you exit the game, will you be dumped into the XMB or into HOME? Hopefully the later. Or even better, let us choose as an option.

You will be "dumped" into HOME. :D

.

I'm going to hack into the Home beta, break into Phil's Norwegian ski lodge, ransack the place, and jack all his s*it. That will teach him not to lie to us PS3 fans. Overpaid lying prick.

WOW

They actually had the balls to show someone actually playing Killzone, complete with choppy framerate.

And I take it you know about the choppy framerate because 1) You have a PS3 and saw the trailer on PSN? 2) You were there at E3? 3) You were one of the developers? I think not! Idiot. Did a 360 fanboy like you come here just to deride a PS3 game article? I think you are really worried about your buggy little 360 to get your panties all in a wad about a PS3 exclusive game.

By the way, don't bother saying you observed any choppy framerate issue from an online trailer, because I've scoured the Net for Killzone2 trailers, and in nary a one have I seen anything remotely resembling a framerate issue. As far as I've seen, graphics-wise and by current technology standards, the graphics in Killzone2 are par excellence.
