Snake's Final Mission: The MGS4 E3 2006 Trailer |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: e3, industry news
Ó

If there is one highly anticipate game in E3, it is Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot. Last year's trailer was purely comedic, taking a crack at our favorite hero, Solid Snake. At the same time, it was poking fun at Metal Gear's resident boytoy, Raiden. However, this year's Metal Gear Solid Trailer is nothing like last year's comedy. If not, it has taken the reality of war into the virtual PS3.

So what does the trailer confirm? Well, other than Snake being there, the trailer also affirms the presence of some of our favorite Metal Gear characters, many of which we have seen in Metal Gear Solid. Otacon, Meryl, Roy Campbell, and Liquid Snake will be present in this game. The game also features the promised buff Raiden. He is now wearing a ninja suit and helmet. Could he be the new Grey Fox? He does try to appear cool as he says his lines in the trailer, but didn't Raiden try his best to appear really cool in MGS2 as well?
The trailer is flawless as what they have been trying to project for MGS4. If there is a theme that MGS4 has been trying to project over the past year, it is reality. In fact, with all the other trailers for the PSP coming out, you cannot distinguish whether what you are watching is the FMV or the actual game play. With PS3's promised real-time experience, this promising trailer of MGS4 could be telling us that Metal Gear Solid is as real as it can get. Though we may not be able to play the game yet, you can at least get the trailer and watch it to your heart's content.

I think the guy who did the military salute is infact big boss, and i think solid sanke dies in the game(by killing himself or maybe asked to be killed by the hands of big boss). Revolver Ocelot looks much younger than in MGS2 thats maybe because liquid snake has 50% control over his body.
I bet raiden also dies in the game so does some of other main characters including revolver ocelot. Man i could be right or wrong, or both. I cant wait fo this game. It's going to be the best experience i had since losing my virginity. Man i cant wait.

Revolver is almost completely transformed into liquid with his younger skin.....seems to me, in the trailer. Hideo was talking about this in his blog.
And yes, i cant wait for this perfection, game.

Anyway... This is crazy. And I have to say, Raiden was about 40% less irritating with his new gear, and Japanese voiceactor.. I'm hoping that the extra Blu-Ray storage will mean that we get to switch around the soundtrack to our personal tastes.
I guess Snake would rather die on his own terms, than at the hand of FOXDie. So sad.. So sad.
Anyway, Hideo just sold me a PS3. I think SONY will sell quite a few extra consoles, just because of this MASSIVE game.

Hideo Kojima, never stop making games, NEVER.
Snake will die but Raiden probably won't take his place, neither will Meryl (laughs), I'm thinking another gene *****tail like Solid Snake, or maybe even a love child of Meryl and Snake? Raiden as the lead of an MGS game would change it significantly into a ninja-esque franchise rather than the more rustic Snake style~

I think you meant Liquid Ocelot there mate :).
"I think the guy who did the military salute is infact big boss, and i think solid sanke dies in the game(by killing himself or maybe asked to be killed by the hands of big boss)."
For even saying that, you do not deserve to even hear the words "Metal Gear Solid" A little history recap for you, Solid Snake killed his father, Big Boss with his bare hands BEFORE MGS1, now seeing as MGS4 is years after that, how the hell do you suppose he is alive and walking?
When snake held the gun to his mouth, my jaw dropped that had to be the most intense scene from any game I have played (And I play alot!)
The reason MGS is so successful, not just because of Hideo Kojima, but the storylines, they're so deep and have life meanings/morals to them, they're absolutely fantastic!
Anywho, Hideo has also sold me a PS3, and so has Square-Enix for FFXIII.
If you actually see the full version of this posted on IGN, Naomi actually tells snake he has only 6 months to live anyway. He just wants to kill Ocelot so he can rest in peace.
MGS4 looks to be probably the greatest game ever made. I can't wait!
