New Devil May Cry 4 gameplay and developer interview videos

We're faced with stylish demon-slashing action (as well as the occasional rain of bullets) in this latest batch of E3 gameplay videos about Devil May Cry 4 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Here's the skinny on what's new with Nero and Dante and all the unspeakable terrors they'll be juggling back and forth with sharp pointy objects.

The first video is a developer interview with Hiroyuki Kobayashi, and the producer talks about how Dante's presented as more of a villain this time around. He also differentiates the two protagonists, saying that the wise-cracking demon slayer from the past three games is more of a "mature cool" guy, compared to Nero - and from the looks of the gameplay bits in the video, it's safe to say that he's just as snarky as Dante. Which of course is still awesome.

The other two videos in this update shows off two of the many kinds of monsters you'll be facing off against. One of them is the Rancid Doll, which looks (and attacks) in a similar fashion as the Marionette enemies from the first Devil May Cry. The other one looks to be a variation of the Rancid Doll, but with a long wicked blade for a leg. Blade-legs or not, though, Nero still rips through them in the signature gajillion-hit combo style that's typical of the series.

i hate you fanboys really, know none of the facts, and only opinions that were self created by you and other fanboy idiots. If Dmc were still ps exclusive you'd be all over capcom's *****. Same thing with gta, virtua fighter, assassins creed, ut3 etc. But look since these games are now multiplatform the only *****s left to suck on are that of sony, konami, and square. so you got killzone 2, mgs, and final fantasy, as your three big ones. 360s got halo 3, bioshock, fable 2, and mass effect. But LOOK!!!! check the multiplatform games for ps3, and 360. Gta4, Dmc4, Resident evil 5, ut3, battlefield, call of duty 4, assassin's creed. WOW look the multiplatform games are better and more plentiful than the exclusives. So *****es stop whining and share the love, and if you cant take that then your greedy *****s that arent worth it. Oh and please stop saying the the ps3 has better graphics, no one has been able to prove that yet. In fact most multipatform games look better on 360, mostly because its slightly easier to program for. So right now we have 2 equal systems with different names and most of the same games. Pick your poison, stop *****ing, or join a sport. Also ps3 got a price cut sooo this makes 360 and ps3 almost twin brothers. Go with 360 if you like halo, go with ps3 if you like metal gear easy as that.

This game will be kick ass, I have bought every Devil May Cry game so far. It would be extremely difficult for me to just "shun" this game. I might just wait a while to buy it. See how it does between the consoles first.

U have my permision to continue this hard core saga,hey it`s me Dante:-)But dont kill me in a sequels U have best devil hunter ever!

And when U reach DMC 6 just call it Devil May Cry 666 (and put more similiar stuff from Dante`s Inferno book,like U did in DMC3)

Can't wait for this game but i expectations are not that high with nero and his devil bringer and what not. on paper, dantes styles on 3 were fun and allow you to have a different experience each playthrough since you could only master one style per play through. but this game looks fun regardless. give us a demo! Oh and the 360 vs PS3 thing.... who cares about that fanboy crap. Play games for fun already. Sony lost this exclusive because they didn't pay capcom off like microsoft seems to be doing for its exclusives.Sony needs to start handing out the big bucks if they want to secure these 3rd party exclusives. anyways can't wait for the game, and I'm copping the ps3 version!

All you Fanboys are idiots and should keep that ***** to yourselves, If you only have a 360 then good for you you already have alot of good games to choose from, and If you only have a PS3 then just be patient cause there are alot of good games coming out soon, it's pointless and there is no reason to talk ***** or bash another system just cause you don't have it, it's not like you work for Sony or Microsoft anyway. I have both systems and plan on waiting for the reviews to see which is better to decide which version to buy , if their equal then I'll get the PS3 version since I have more 360 games and would like to even it out a bit. Now as far as Dante or Nero's maturity goes I prefer more mature atitude over "coolness" or whatever since the developers tend to overdue it with the characters being way too *****y and having really cheesy lines of dialogue for example Dante in DMC3 going WhooHoo!!! every freakin time he does a move (mostly in the cutscenes).
