Now for the 360 version. Rockstar have been a little more adventurous with this one, as Microsoft and Rockstar games have 'forged an alliance', and will provide Xbox Live downloadable content for the 360 version. “Through Xbox Live, we have a unique opportunity to reach out to our audience in new ways,” said Sam Houser, executive producer and founder of Rockstar Games. “This strategic alliance allows us to craft experiences that fully leverage the on-demand distribution power and sheer size of Xbox Live.”
The agreement to distribute exclusive Rockstar Games content via Xbox Live highlights the publishing communityÂ’s growing desire to feed gamersÂ’ insatiable appetite for downloading new high-definition experiences and playing online. Since Xbox Live launched, fans have logged nearly 1.8 billion hours playing online and have downloaded more than 18 million pieces of content in just the past six months.
Is this yet another sting in Sony's tail? One of the most successful game franchises of all time is now multi-platform. Sony don't have the bragging rights on this one. And the downloadable content? It says that it will be launched on that same day for both the PS3 and the 360 but the realease date is a mounth before that of the PS3. It seems pretty stupid to me to be able to buy a PS3 game before the release of the console. I guess i could be cool to look at the disc for that extra mounth before you can play it... :S i don't get it

Oh yeah, and paying for Live for 4 years means your paying $200 over the course of those 4 years. you pay $400 for a 360, so add them together and what do you get? $600! Same as the PS3. Meanwhile, PS3 online is completely free!

Sony has not gone into detail of the online service. You are not a spokesperson of sony(I would hope not from your immature antics) I would advice you to wait till sony gives deatails AND pricining on their online service before you start going at it with fanboys. Well Vecha, MS is finally thinking on a intelligent level. They are the North American Company & they are starting to show that, & maybe GTA 4 will only be one of the first titles they do this for. When it comes to there version of the Game, they are in Contract with rockstar to have EXCLUSIVE content for the game available vis Xbox Live Marketplace. So the only thing Sony can get out of them is patches. They can't even get content that would be different to what the Xbox 360 has cus that would be a breach of contract. Now, if MS began to do the same thing with sports games from EA, 2K, & other multiplatform gamer developers such as Capcom, THQ, etc, Then the playing field will be changed completly. The PS3 online network will now end up looking like an old Xbox Live. If you say the MS conference, MS has huge plans to take the Live spectrum to a whole new level. They'll pretty much slap a patent on it preventing Sony from doing the same . MS is finally thinking Xbox 360 on a whloe business level rather than just a gaming one & now they have the advantage. Things are looking up for those who own an Xbox 360. After seeing that confrence, I am very happy to be an owner as well.

Alot of times in life, you get what you pay for. Xbl is 4 bucks a month, and get tons of free stuff with the free diamond card. Buy one get one free at quiznos. I have been eating like a king for like 8 bucks a day, 2 feet of chicken bacon ranch a day.

I dont think sony "forgot" online play at there conference i think the didnt mention it on purpose. It could be that u have access to certain content of Playstation online and need to pay for online play(like XBL). They did show payment cards for there online service. Paying to play online actually will make the expierence better anyway, they use that money for better servers/upkeep of servers.

First off im sure anyone who can swing $400 or so for a 360 could swing the extra for PS3 if they wanted ..but why should they?
Sony has shown nothing that even makes their console worth the premium price tag they are going to ask for it.
The graphics aren't any better than 360 . Ps3 maybe has 8% more processing power and the 360's gpu can handle hdr+aa and other effects including future Directx 10 effects that Rsx can't. More powerful my ass, go ahead and waste mommies money on a PS3 he *****.
I dont get the hype for GTA games, i hated San Andreas, i was only keeping my 360 for Halo 3 but then i realised how much i now hate Halo 2 and i saw the trailer for 3 so i may be selling my 360 so i have some extra money towards my PS3 and most probally the Wii (first nintendo console i will have bought since N64)

I saw all the press releases for E3.First off the things that got me excited surprised me.I was looking forward to sony's press release for the ps3 the games look REALLY good but the price is going to kill everybody's wallet.They are really selling the $600 version with the 60 gig harddrive and wireless networking.They also took the rumble out of the contoller to copy some of nintendo's ideas.Don't get me wrong i'm excited about the ps3 and will get one the day it comes out but,the price is way high.I know that sony has a good rep of bringing great games to their system's and that's why I will buy the PS3
Nintendo on the other hand has me excited to out least try their "WII".But,I hope that they will have a way to play with a normal contoller as well.At around $250 to $300 expect this to be a big seller in the usa and even BIGGER in japan.Plus don't forget the games where else are you going to play mario,zelda and metroid?

First there was GTA I and then there was GTA: London... London wasn´t GTA II it was more like GTA 1,5 ...then there was GTA II.. Same thing is now happening to the GTA IV because Gta SA isn´t really a new game because it didn´t take the step that far away from 3 .. or something. Also, Tekken Tag was more like Tekken 3.5 and not like Tekken 4
GTA is ofcourse one of the best games ever but even if it was only to come out on the 360 I wouldn´t buy it. 360 has Halo and DOA4. PS3 will have MGS:4, Tekken 6, Gran Turismo and all the other *****.... MS sucks and it´s graphics isn´t all that. Just pick up any game you want and compare it to Metal Gear Solid.
Vice City and San Andreas are still under GTA 3 name. Vice city and such are like subheadings.

I love FPS games, but i trully believe those are meant to be played with a mouse and keyboard. Why doesn't MS bring out a mouse and keyboard for their 360? How much is that HD-DVD for the 360 going to cost? Is anyong going to fork over the extra cash for it? This reminds me of the Sega Genesis' CD and 32X.
Usb keyboards work on the 360, i used mine in the Final Fantasy XI online beta, but my usb mouse didnt work. The problem if Microsoft officially announce mouse support is people will complain about other people having an unfair advantage in games when playing on Xbox Live, because a mouse is more responsive and accurate than an analogue stick.

I see nobody mentioned the fact that you are probably going to have to pay for the exclusive content what ever that maybe. It'll probably only amount to new players skins or a few extra cars anyway whoopdy friggin doo. Both versions will get owned when it comes out on the PC anyway.
I used to be a ps3 fanboy but i got tired of playing all their good library of games in square mode (worst graphics than n64), besides $600 for a stupid blu-ray crap isnt worth it. dont get me wrong i like both 360 and ps3 but if ps3 is going to have free online play i'll expect them asking for ur email or if not paying $3 dollars like EA did on their servers.....

I am sure the ps3 will have some of its own exclusive content because the size of blu ray and i love how people dont see how m$ is screwing them in another. Fanboys annoy me greatly. You don't work for the companies so what the ***** difference does it make to you? PS3 will have inevitably 'better' graphics and better speeds etc. but how many people really notice an actual difference when it comes to graphics? PS2 and Xbox looked the exact same to many people, in my case the only reason I bought an Xbox was for Halo + Halo 2 and not supposedly 'superior graphics'. And to the people who say that Xbox Live would be better because you have to pay for it - that's not particularly smart. The online systems would be the same, or with negligible difference considering you pay nothing. In the end, Microsoft can't exactly lose anyway, it has the money to buy anything (you don't honestly think game developers think that Xbox is better, do you?). In any case, why not support the ones who are still keeping faithful to the idea of video game consoles (nintendo)? Why do we want to pay so much for what is essentially advertised to be another PC, that can just play games that are in a different format? Sounds like a hell of a money making scheme to me. I also personally miss days where game developers focused much more on gameplay rather than graphics. Graphics doesn't mean THAT much in the context of games, unless you are looking for something to replace life (a sad thing indeed).
As for GTA... it's not that great. Sony looks to much better games for the help they may need.
