The tech demo was presented in full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 progressive) with the highest possible refresh rate of 60 frames per second. This is the highest possible performance that can currently be achieved on the latest high definition televisions, and is three times higher in quality than the average high definition quality broadcast. The visual quality in Gran Turismo HD is said to be 12 times greater than Gran Turismo 4 was on the PS2, which will truly allow you to experience an immersive world like never before.

watch the press confrence to find out why it looks this way. This is not the final look of the game you Dip *****s. This is basicly GT4 running at 60fps and HD on the PS3. Idiots. Passing judgement on a book before you read it.
Sony will be very quiet about this game. They don't want to give M$ any ideas on their Forza crap.

They said Gran Tourismo HD.
For one look at the other games. They look much better then anything on the xbox360 so far and they will be launch titles. 500 bucks is cheap. You get a Game Console, a Blu-ray Player and a 20 GB hard Drive.
The PS3 alone would be worth 400 with no Blu-ray so your paying 100 bucks for a blu-ray player and you things thats expensive? Your getting a Blu-ray Player for a fraction of the cost of a stand-alone blu-ray player.
It took them years to create GT4, dont expect GT5 for a while. Also this confirms one thing, games will truely be shown in 1080p for games that support it. and with 60FPS its the best you can ask for.
1080i vs 1080p is no contest.

And #5, I also saw the press conference on gamespot. And trust me, I don't see any slow down. Maybe your internet connection is pretty slow or something. And if you saw the streaming version, you're not seeing the real thing. The real thing is 1920 X 1080 resolution. And the streaming video has resize everything to around 100 X 100 resolution. With something that small, you can't see much. But trust me, if you were there, you would have seen how good it look. IGN and all those other game websites agree with me.

Erm... are they even talking about the same game?! Those screenshots look trash. "12 times greater" are they just counting the pixels on screen?
PS3... erm nah, ps2.5 more like. Just get an xbox 360 and the HD-dvd add on if you 'really' wanna watch hd dvd's.

Man the cars aren't even kicking up dust...and it even looks like they are using sprites on the crowds in the distance....horrible....
And if it is a ps2 game, what is the f'ing point of showing it in hd ? it's meaningless when it comes to actual next gen games....that's what most arguements are, can the ps3 run NEXTGEN games at 1080p, most developers say no....and if it's having a hard time doing ps2 games at 1080p I don't doubt them....

Let's face it, Yes it's expensive. One of the reasons we worked hard in college to get a good paying job is so that we can afford and enjoy this kind of thing. Buy the Bravia, buy the Deluxe PS3, buy the new Logitech wheel supersteering wheel. Then wait. When the next Gran Turismo eventually comes out, it will be worth the wait. Trust me... this will be THE one to get.
