Final Fantasy XIII missing at the E3

According to a recent podcast, July 11 to July 13 may be one of the most disappointing set of days in gaming history. 1UP Yours Podcast Editor Garnett Lee interviewed Electronic Gaming Monthly's (EGM) Previews Editor Bryan Intihar about what to expect at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). During the course of the podcast, he dropped the bombshell about a potentially big upset.

Here's how it went:

Lee: Disappointment's always a big question, what do you think's going to be disappointing us Bryan? I mean come on, I know you have all kinds of stuff on that.

Intihar: Well the obviously big disappointment is that, there will be no Final Fantasy XIII what so ever.

Lee: Right.

Intihar: I think that's a huge disappointment.

Lee: I'm not the only one that would stand in line for that.

Revealed in last year's E3 with one of the most beautiful game preview trailers in FF history, FFXIII's absence in this year's line-up will mean that a lot of gamers will be disappointed.

But remember, guys, the E3's still a week away, and Square Enix has a reputation of surprising everyone. We can only cross our fingers and hope for the best.

could it really be THAT dissappointing? If anything, you might just have to wait a month or so for some news updates from Square Enix, but look at the bright side. We get news for all of the PS3 games we have been waiting ever so long for, such as Killzone, Crysis, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Unreal Tournament III, Fatal Inertia, GTA IV, and more.

The FFXIII main game and Versus XIII are NOT headed to the 360. Square Enix already mentioned that.

How funny that anti-ps3 and pro xbox 360 users try to put down final fantasy XIII. Why don't you xbox users stick to final fantasy XI and stop moaning, your machine just isn't going to stand the test of time with next gen titles in the coming years. MGS4 haha

Yeah, you guys're really pathetic. Thinking that XIII and Versus XIII will be headed to 360. Well, I've got news for ya. Square Enix already have stated that the main XIII game and Versus XIII will be running under PS3's graphics engine. Dubbed; The White Engine.

The game franchise isn't some "name"

S-E are slamming that name to any of their new games just for the sales, therefore, the sales are meaningless. And i find Mr. common sense's statement is true, making you the ignorant and foolish guy.

notice how they slammed the name "Final fantasy VII" on dirge of cerberus. that game was HORRIBLE. Notice how they slammed "Final Fantasy" on FF12 and 13, even though the games are far from traditional final fantasy games. Have you seen the movie FF: spirits within? It wasn't bad but it clearly showed that they are slamming "Final Fantasy" on anything new they are doing.

What I'm trying to get at is Mister Common Sense's attack on the franchise. And saying that FF is just simply a "name".

Well, would you be saying that when FFXIII releases? Muchless Versus XIII to exclusively the PS3?
