Final Fantasy

Those lucky guys at GameDaily have been playing the Final Fantasy XI beta for a month, plus the retail version for a while now. And they've been kind enough to write a review.

Well, if you've been under a rock for the last 10 years or so, I'll help you get back up to speed with the latest happenings. Final Fantasy XI is a massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG). The original version of the game was first released in May 2002 in Japan. Later, it went on to become as legendary as its earlier versions.

First, a major quirk : Installation of the game takes well over four hours to complete. But if you're ready to dedicate a little time to it, you'll realise that Final Fantasy XI is still that very-addictive RPG. Plus, the graphics are not next-gen. But, Square Enix has put in some work to make sure that it still looks way better than the PC or PS2 version. And playing it on HDTV with all its goodness is still a great experience.

An excerpt from their review :

"Final Fantasy finally comes to a Microsoft console with the latest expansion for Final Fantasy XI. Including all three expansions, anyone who has yet to try out FFXI or simply wants to upgrade from the PS2 or PC will find everything they need in the $60 Xbox 360 title. The graphics are a bit dated when compared to just about any other Xbox 360 title, but it's the best looking version of FFXI out there. You'll need a USB keyboard to get the most out of the title, and you'll also need to be prepared for the installation process that will take upwards of four hours to complete. However, once you're in find some friends and start adventuring in the huge world of Vana'diel."

It will also be on display at E3. Stay tuned because QJ.NET will be providing late-breaking news during E3 week. Make sure to check out our other E3 stories here.

Hmmmmmmmm i wonder how much Miceo$oft bougth this game for. Seriously iF people liked the FF seis they would not break the chain and buy a f*cking Xbox 360 . What is the point of putting a FF gane on the 360 any way. Most people just play Halo 2 any way. GOOD DAM Micro$oft is dumb

Microsoft paid nothing. Square-Enix brought the FFXI series to the 360 and paid microsoft the proper royalties to make a game for the console.

the process was Square-Enix's way of testing the development kit for the 360 on porting a PC game to the 360. they are also using this as a base to test the market.

since the development for the game is already done, and they are just doing a little work on using the Dev Kit, the income by broadening their fanbase means only income can come from this. (not to mention be the ONLY MMO on an Xbox Console)

if you want to play online in a game, it only let's you download, so no it isnt free if you actually use it. If you could afford a 360 you would know that.

Xboxlive Silver is FREE. And you can play ANY MMOgame with Xboxlive SILVER. If YOu could afford a clue, youd know THAT.

And If you SE bashing dummies didnt know, SE IS NOW currently as we SPEAk working on the next gen mmorpg. But i bet you were too busy complaining to know that. they Showed it at last years E3 genious..... They ported this game to 360 not to test the market... they WERE going to port this to Xbox1, but MS were being jerks about their network. EA went through the same thing. EA and SE came to an agreement late in the Xbox1s life. Were EA freely put games on live, the only game SE had was a mmorpg, and theytake time to get an instal user base. It made NO financial sense for SE to release FFXI on Xbox1, when 360 was announced and MS pretty much dropped support for Xbox1.

had you any business sense youd know that,.
