Eye of Judgment Demo Unleashed

When word got out that players of the Eye of Judgment trading card game will be able to use a PS3 camera peripheral called the Eye-Toy, the curiosity level about how the game works just went right through the roof. Picture this, the Eye-Toy captures all the movements on a 3x3 board. Say, if you place a card on the board, a summoned monster shows up on the screen. Impressed? Well, you can reserve judgment until you watch the E3 demo below.

as both commentors before said... if they made this for Yu-Gi-Oh! they would make a load of money, ppl like me would buy it =D then they need to make some kind of online capabilities... but again, they need some way to confirm the cards' authenticity.

from what i could tell, the idea of using the eye toy for recognition is severely limiting, i simple device you swipe cards through with a magnetic strip or something, ecah could have a unique id stopping them played twice, they could implement some layer of security, it'd be much faster i imagine, plus, you could play on a much bigger than 3x3 board, swipe your card, press an action button, ie; trap, summon, guard, etc. maybe a card reader expansion that plugs into the usb on the controller, so you just swipe, then use the controller. that's make for a very flexible gameplay. of course, i can't imagine any kind of tournament play would be possible, no way to authenticate cards, make sure people aren't screwing with their deck mid game, etc.

tricky

That would be SO awesome. There could be some kind of unique code on the bottom of each card, so that you would play with the real cards with eyetoys and still be able to use them "irl".

The eyetoy has evolved for the ps3 and is leaps and bounds ahead of the 360 equivalent~

I think almost everyone agrees... YU-GI-OH! PS3 is a MUST!
