ElebitsKonami Digital Entertainment has formally announced its original action title for Nintendo's Wii which will utilize the unique features of the Wii's controller. Elebits is a game that will require one to use the Wii's controller to search for and capture the mischievous creatures called Elebits.

These tiny and mysterious creatures called Elebits have been the world's energy source for the past 10 years, and humans have also co-existed peacefully with these creatures. But however peaceful this co-existence may seem, bad things occur when these mischievous creatures start causing trouble. The point of the entire game is to track down those causing trouble and put an end to their mischief.

According to Konami's Head of European Product Management Hans-Joachim Amann, they see the innovative Wii controller as perfect for the game Elebits because it “allows us to explore new game concepts that were not previously possible, and Elebits reflects this new freedom of design with gameplay that is easy for gamers of all ages to enjoy.”

The controller will allow players to interact with their environment while they search for the creatures. As the Elebits will hide almost anywhere, the controller will make it easier for players to push, pull, throw or lift anything to reveal the hiding places of these tiny creatures. Players can also choose to sneak up on the Elebits or scare them out of their hiding spots so they can catch them. Players can take almost any strategy to try and capture all the power-generating Elebits.

Konami Digital Entertainment will be presenting Elebits at E3.
