E3 Update: Super Mario Galaxy demo video (Part 1)

More moving-picture joy that's decidedly cute (and a bit disconcerting) headed your way in this latest E3 demonstration video of the world-famous plumber's latest adventure for Super Mario Galaxy.

One thing we immediately noticed in this video is how everything is so bright, vibrant, and smooth that you can't help but stop and admire the beauty of the planet you're currently romping through.

The camera is its usual flawless self, zooming in when Mario's talking to NPCs and zooming out to center on Mario's back when he's moving. The textures are great, there's virtually no slowdown despite the tons of things happening around Mario, and the scale of the world you're in is just staggering (watch as the queen's castle slowly drifts into view as Mario makes the last jump).

Sorry, Mario, but the Princess is in another castle? Try another galaxy!

In the background, you can see that zack guy from AOTS on G4. You can also here him talking a little bit later on in the video. Back to Mario, I'll admit I didn't like gamecube at all and probably a Sony fanboy but that game looks sweet; I will definitely get it when it comes out.

Is it just me or does that bee power up look like the same game mechanics as the crappy Water pack from sunshine.... I really hope not as it might be another case of how to make mario 3d platformers easier for idiots....just like sunshine was.

noooooooooooooo ooooooooooo

Kinda weird to see that much bloom on a cartoony looking game. Still, looks great! Highly anticipate more 3D Mario goodness.
