E3: Rise of the Argonauts Dynamic Combat System interview |
Ó
Today's update about this ambitious IP is an interview during E3 about the game's Dynamic Combat System which pretty much lets you customize King Jason as you see fit. In this video, we learn about how the game streamlines the RPG experience into something easier, faster and more gratifying.
For instance, levelling up Jason's different areas of expertise is as easy as dedicating your heroic exploits (rescuing people, killing monsters, that sort of malarkey) to the relevant god. We also get to find out that combat in Rise of the Argonauts will be quite the visceral experience. Rather than having your opponents take a set number of hits before finally going down, it's more of a single-hit kill affair.

This sounds very promising. The way he described the combat system really makes me wanna play this game.
The only problem I have with this is the thing where you can just dedicate an action to a god and just level up a skill (or something) that falls under that god's alignment (again, or something). It seems like a standardized RPG system that's just been renamed. Something that would be neat, instead, would be that if you fight in a certain style a god that prefers it would reward you with something (weapon, skill, ability increases, etc).
Creating a game in the way you suggested would also increase the replayability. If you have 3 characters to choose from, and there are, for example, 5 gods/styles, then you've already created 15 different ways to finish the game.
its annoying everytime to see the guy killing the pig in the background.. and what the ***** is wrong with this guy. xDDD
Just another fing g ay RPG with kings swords and trolls. I hate these games especially World Of War Craft.
