E3 2009: Seven minutes of Final Fantasy XIII story and gameplay

Here's another big one from E3 and Square Enix: it's a seven-minute video of Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360) - packed full of story elements and gameplay clips into one - complete with English subs. Although parts have already been seen from assets previously released, nothing beats a good video that has it all. I hope you're comfy in your chair 'cause this one's a real treat.


The battle system's really growing on me. The multiple gauges, the seemless transition, and it all seems pretty active and free-flowing to some extent. Well, I bet you don't need this writer's babble, so just keep on watchin!

i like final fantasy just as much as the next guy but i feel like every new one is just more over the top then the last. and the character models get dumber every time. i miss the old style of regular looking characters doing semi-believable things and not on flying trains with no shirt on and summoning motorcycles.

In terms of sales, prrrrobably no. It'll for sure fly off the shelves in Japan though. But in terms of enjoyability, there's a chance. I liked KH a lot, so this one's very promising. Now, if Sony does the whole price cut and PS3 Slim 1-2 punch, then sales will be massive by the time it comes out.
