E3 2009: High Voltage Software presents - Gladiator A.D. |
Ó
As promised, here is one of the two games that Conduit developer, High Voltage Software, will unveil this coming E3. Coming soon to the Nintendo Wii is Roman brutality at its finest - Gladiator A.D. IGN got in touch with the devs behind the new Coliseum bloodbath and they talk about what gamers can expect from the new game.
Inspired by the slow-mos from the Spartan warmongers of the movie "300," Gladiator A.D. will be a brutal and intense fighter with intuitive game controls. Speaking to IGN, design director David Pellas reveals that the game will be something of a hybrid between Bushido Blade and Fight Night - a very interesting combination.
You will be able to choose one from a list of many gladiators, each with a different background, motivation, and storyline. Each gladiator will specialize in a different weapon, but everyone can take advantage of elements in the environment - like hungry lions and spiked walls - to take their foes out. The team also noted that even though there is a lot of focus on Wiimote controls, they're still looking for alternate methods of control. And yes, there's MotionPlus support.
Storyline will also vary depending on your actions in the game. Executing a fallen foe or choosing to let them live may will have difference repercussions. Remember Maximus the merciful? What you want your fighter to be and what he/she will do along the way will ultimately be up to you.
Well now, sounds like a pretty awesome game so far. Either that, or I'm such a sucker for Rome-related violence, and that my favorite movie is Gladiator. Well, if anything, we'll have E3 soon enough to hand us more details.
