Announced and in the works, Final Fantasy XIV just got this great-looking trailer featuring scenes from the next big thing for Square Enix. It doesn't really say anything new, and any info we have so far, we've already given. As it is, Final Fantasy XIV is confirmed only for the PlayStation 3 and PC, while the Xbox 360 is still being considered as a platform.

Breathtaking. Eorzea is one sight to behold, and so is everything in it. The guy who appears to be our new hero reminds me a lot of FFXII's Rasler, and he's accompanied by a burly axe-wielder, another dude, and everyone's favorite Square Enix wonderbird, the Chocobo.

If new stuff is revealed, we'll be sure to let you guys know.

Yeah I totally agree with you there Glenn M on with that guy looking a lot like Rasler but that's cool! The art director for this one was the same guy who did Vagrant Story and FFXII which, in my opinion, is great because those games look outstanding and stand out from the other FFs.

Although I kinda hope that this doesn't get released onto the 360 simply because they said it was an exclusive title for the PS3. Too many "exclusive" titles have gone on to the 360 now, for example Tekken, DMC and FFXIII, and I think the PS3 needs more powerful exclusives on it in order to succeed better.

I was completely shocked when they announced this at E3 and I'm really excited about it. Far more excited for it than FFXIII! Let's hope they release more ingame vids or even a beta soon :)

» I bet

Square's probably waiting to see if Sony cuts the PS3's price. Otherwise they're in talks with Sony about a little.... monetary incentive (we all know Sony does this too, cmon~). Square's been on Sony's case about price cuts for a while, from what I remember. If Sony plays their cards right, they can bag this one. But if not, then more people playing this one, which is actually a good thing(for consumers, not Sony).

I agree. I like exclusives, on both sides.

» Yea

If MS wants they'll have this easy enough. Its up to Sony if this game stays exclusive or not, either way I'll probably get it for PC so it doesn't matter to me.

Also for anyone who doesn't know, the little segment with the jellyfish looking things was gameplay. One of the producers at the FFXIV Q and A confirmed that the bit with the fighting was in game footage. Other than that its all CG (Obviously)

» de ja vu...

Did anyone else get a flashback from FF8 when the 3 characters stand on the cliff. I immediately thought of Laguna, Kiros, and Ward (yes, I had to look up the names to remember).
