Littlebigplanet - Image 1In E3 2008, Sony gave a tidbit of confirmation on when Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet will be released. Through one of its top execs Jack Tretton, it was stated that the game is dropping by October of this year.

There's been a bit of confusion as to when the game will really be out as some sites have earlier confirmed this game to launch in September. If you backtrack through Sony's previous statements and events, however, you'll realize that Tretton is pretty consistent with what's been laid before.

LittleBigPlanet was originally supposed to come out early in 2008, but was later delayed to September. In May 6 at the London PlayStation Day, however, it was announced that the game would be delayed by a month. Hence, Tretton's October revelation.

LittleBigPlanet will be available both as a Blu-ray release and as a download. It's one of the most anticipated titles in the industry bar none because of the promise of empowering user-generated content in Sony's online turf.
