Good news for all those folks who've yet to decide on what type of PS3 to buy. Over at Sony's E3 press conference, the company has announced that they're coming out with an 80GB PS3 "Core Pack" that'll sell for US$ 399.99. As Jack Tretton put it, it would have "the same functionality of the 40GB... with twice the storage."The 80GB Core Pack is scheduled for release in September. From the looks of things there won't be a game in the bundle, but a DualShock 3 might be in the package as seen from a shot of the packaging at the event.

the new 80gig is EXACTLY like the 40gig (no memory card readers, less usb ports,no ps2 playback i think)..the only difference is of course the 80gig HDD.
PLUS your box cover art for your bundle looks cooler lol.

Now, if they'll only make an official eSATA port so I wouldn't have to get an aftermarket one.
