One thing that defines a fad is a sharp and sudden burst in sales, and then an even faster decline once everyone comes to their senses about their purchases. If the Wii really is a fad, it's taking a really long time to die down.

According to Nintendo's E3 press conference earlier today, they're still dishing out 700,000 Wii consoles a month. Imagine what the holidays would do to sales. The DS is doing even better, with 200,000 units dished out every week.

Also at the E3 conference, Ninty revealed official details on their upcoming games, Wii Music, Wii Sports Resort, and Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Then where the hell are the Wiis?

» how about 700k wii fit?

I still trying to get one since it launched. Local craigslist is selling for 150. A friend saw a rip off shop in Edmonton, Alberta selling for 299 in store (299!!!! with picture proof!).

How about pumping out more wii fit in here Nintendo?

» huh?

I thought they were supposedly making 1.8 million a month, then 2.5 million a month. Must have been a lie to make the wii seem more popular.

Unless they're cutting back production now that sales are down. That way, it still seems like they're sold out everywhere and you're "lucky" if you can find one.

» *sigh*

"Must have been a lie to make the wii seem more popular."

Yeah, obviously. That's what reputable businesses do. They don't need to lie, because they are making they most money, see? Their lead in the console war is safe, at least for now. Besides, you think everything Nintendo says is a lie.

Also, if it was a lie, why would you of all people be the ONLY one to pick up on it? There's professional analysts etc that would notice in an instant if they lied about ANYTHING. And we would know about it, because there would be a big fiasco surrounding it. Think before you post.

» That number

Is for worldwide production. The 700k number is for the US alone.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

The Tjalian beat me to it. As usual Mr. Common Douche Bag has all his numbers shoved so far up his rear he cant read them properly.

"Yep, that's 1.8 million for the whole world, not just America."

It's also typical of his narrow mind to only think about the US. All other groups of people don't exist in his mind.

It never says that's the production for the US. Anyway, if that was true, they could be found IN STORES. They just have to respond to criticism somehow.

700,000 per month is a lot for one country. Easily enough to stock store shelves.

I don't believe it, especially since Nintendo makes less money off the Wii in the US. They can say whatever the hell they want, and actual shipment data is secretive (that's why vg charts is so far off.)

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"It never says that's the production for the US."

It doesn't have to. You see, 700,000 world wide MAKES NO SENSE. Had you been able to use your brain to add 2 and 2 you would have realized that yourself.

"Anyway, if that was true, they could be found IN STORES."

Says who? You? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!

"700,000 per month is a lot for one country. Easily enough to stock store shelves."

Obviously not. You've already proven in the paste that you have NO CLUE about distribution. Don't pretent like you have an understanding of WHEN June manufactured consoles can actually hit a store shelf.

"and actual shipment data is secretive"

Shipment data, yes. Receiving data, NO!

(that's why vg charts is so far off.)

Wrong again! VG tracks SALES.
