E3 2008: Animal Crossing to have microphone peripheral, WiiSpeak |
Ó
As promised, Nintendo has revealed some big new details for Animal Crossing Wii during their E3 press conference. Not only has the game been announced to be released this year, but a new peripheral has also been announced for the game.Called WiiSpeak, the microphone peripheral will allow players to talk to each other with a new voice chat feature (finally!). Speaking of interactivity features, the game will also allow you to send messages to real world cell phones.
The game was also announced to include a brand new city environment. The city will have a unique auction site, beauty salon, and a "Happy Room Academy," among other things. You can also have your character look like your Mii by giving yourself a makeover (giving yourself a makeover to look like yourself is a weird concept, I know).
Stay tuned for more news coming in from the Nintendo E3 press conference!

A great solution for parents who want to monitor what their kids are hearing online, and for whole rooms of people to talk to each other. I'd also like the option of a headset, despite the exclusivity to the player wearing it.
Wow! Nintendo could finally support voice chat in one game! It just needs another accessory to make it possible of course.
Another accessory? Wii Speak is a microphone. Televisions have speakers. What's missing? I'm not being a b*st*rd here, I just don't know what you mean.
You were referring to Wii Speak as the extra accessory!
What's a headset? What's a £150 disk drive add-on? What's a set of headphones for your iPod?
Peripherals and accessories; some of which (namely the 360 disk drive) are pointless rip-offs, others which are necessary for particular functions. The headset and headphones, as well as Wii Speak, are the latter.
