Konami made a relatively low-key announcement to some video game retailers across the country about their upcoming releases. Amongst other things, they announced DDR UNIVERSE, which will bring the Dance Dance Revolution experience into the next generation of gaming. Xbox owners should be happy to hear that DDR Ultramix 4 is currently being worked on, while PS2 owners can look forward to DDR Supernova.

It'll be interesting to see just how Konami plans to improve on the original DDR formula. With the release of their latest arcade mix also entitled Supernova on the way, it seems as if Konami is trying to revive one of their most successful titles. The new arcade boasts an improved song list as well as new dancers in the background that move to the beat, and their will even be a battle mode available. Konami will have more to say about their new releases at E3, so expect to hear more on this soon!

I'm not a girl or a homosexual and love to dance to ddr. I'm not the type that goes to the arcade and spend 20 dollars worth of quarters with towels and water bottles. But I do play home versions of ddr with my friends about once a week or so. I'm very glad that they are bringing this into the next generation, even if it doesn't have next gen graphics the core element will still be there and still be great to play and dance to :) .

those of u who say ddr sucks, prolly suck at it or are too lazy to get of their fat ass. it helps you get into shape and builds up leg muscles. me and my friends always play it. for those of you who sit around with only your controller and have ZERO friends, sucks to be you.
