Crackdown Details Revealed |

Real Time Worlds, creator of the global hit Grand Theft Auto and of the popular game Lemmings, has come up with another title for the Xbox 360 that will definitely be one of the biggest hits this year: Crackdown.
The
object of the entire game is to enforce justice in Pacific City by
any means necessary, as the city is already a crime-ridden urban
center. Anything in the entire 3D playground can be used as weapon to
ensure that the streets are cleaned up.
One of
the main features that will definitely appeal to gamers is the highly
stylized rendering technique that will turn the entire game almost
into a living graphical novel. Harnessing the 360's visual
capabilities, this 3D game will be able to show the both the massive
backdrop of the city and the smallest details of different elements
in the game.
Crackdown
has also been developed to “define open-world, free-form
next-generation gaming. There is cooperative gameplay that will be
able to exploit and explore the full width, depth and height of the
city. Waging war against crime syndicates in Pacific City means
engaging in high-octane chases either on foot or on wheels through
any route possible, equipped with anything that players can use as
weapon.
Reclaiming
the streets would require the players' agents in the game to use
their abilities through any strategy or tactic. For the agents'
genetic tendencies to increase and later on reach their full
potential, players need to hone and develop their gameplay skills.
Agents will be able to run at great speed, take death-defying leaps,
use weapons and perform impossible vehicular maneuvers.
An
essential element in the game is music, so the developers made
available more thatn 100 licensed tracks that fall under different
styles and genres. These tracks are used to give audio identities to
the agents and characters in the game, and also to the different
locations featured in Crackdown.
There is
a feature in the game wherein players' actions will stay in place
much longer, meaning if one gamer decided to place a barricade made
of several vehicles, this will still be there when he comes back with
more.
Crackdown
is scheduled for release this Fall. Check out these screens from E3.
