Ankama's Wakfu to See The Light At E3

While MMORPGs may be considered synonymous with violence, destruction, and (some of them) pornography, it's nice to see some developers focusing on delivering some significant subliminal messages with the games they are creating. Ankama Studios, the same developers behind the realm of Amakna (Ankama in reverse, pretty cheeky huh?) in MMORPG Dofus, is set to unveil another MMO carrying the title Wakfu (I see no relationship/code with the developer's name this time, sorry, I'm no Robert Langdon) this coming E3.

The new Massive Muiltiplayer Online Game is already undergoing fine-tuning. With Wakfu, instead of the usual devil-may-care slayings with the goal of pawning everyone, gamers are tasked to preserve nature from destruction (No, Erin Brockovich is not in any way attached with Ankama, and again no, Nigel Thornberry isn't a game character) by, well, slaying and pawning everyone with the use of magic, martial arts and new technologies. Players are also given the chance to build cities in a virgin universe a la X-men's Apocalypse. Using a universal and intuitive language, future Wakfunatics are given the oppurtunity to create alliances and play a huge role in universe-affecting wars. That's one cool way of being a nature buff and techie-freak at the same time.
