We saw a lot of crazy things this year - "Berries and Creme" lads aside. And that's within the gaming industry or without. What's been popular this year though? Yahoo! can probably answer that with their annual "Top Trends in Search" list for 2007.

While there are indeed a lot of popular keywords being searched throughout the year, with each list focusing on a specific category (i.e. Entertainment, Sports, Yahoo! Kids, etc.), what concerns us today is the list of top 10 searches in technology. Here we go!

The Year of I, You and Wii - top 10 in tech:
  1. YouTube
  2. Wikipedia
  3. Facebook
  4. iTunes
  5. iPod
  6. iPhone
  7. Nintendo Wii
  8. Xbox
  9. Sony PlayStation 3
  10. Guitar Hero
The three major consoles ending up on that list isn't very surprising - Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have all been causing earthquakes throughout the year with their videogame consoles (slash "home entertainment hub").

Apple got quite a chunk of the list as well, what with getting people to camp out in lines for the iPhone. And among video game titles, people have been searching quite a lot for Guitar Hero from Activision - correction: Activision Blizzard.

Do note that these just reflect "popularity" ratings - what people are interested in searching for online - and don't necessarily mean that one thing is better than the other. It doesn't even directly dictate hardware or software sales.

It also may depend on the news, controversies, and scandals. For example, High School Musical teen actress Vanessa Ann Hudgens landed on the Entertainment list, and Yahoo! attributes this to Hudgens' photo scandal.
