Windows XP on MacSo scarcely has the excitement worn-off that it is indeed possible to run Windows XP on an Intel Macintosh, and now the bootloader is available for the world to try.  The .zip file includes the bootloader to get your Windows XP install running on an Intel macintosh, as well as a lengthy how-to text file to walk you through it.

Haven't yet tried it myself, as I don't have an Intel mac (yet) so let us hear your success stories.  Now that this is out there, I think it's high time I made a trip to the local Apple store for my new macintosh computer...

I dont see what the point is in running Win XP on a mac. It runs on a PC. If you could dual boot windows and osx then that would be an achievement.

If I get a Mac I want OSX on it not XP that I've got already on my PC.

# MAC vs windows... who cares.Guest 2006-03-29 11:04
I'm really tied of the Macies and teh Winblows users always whining. Neither OS is better they both suck. One limits you so highly and charges more for it, the other offers a vatiety of stuff and is so unstable its not worth it either. :-(

The OSX on pc thing is actually a great thing for Mac users. By being able to run OX on a pc you will have a lot more people out here using it as a training tool and learning how to use OSX. In turn, your support rates will go down as more people are available to service your PC.

"Upgrading every year" is an option and at least Apple keeps their OS fresh, whereas Microsoft slowly takes giant strides to barely keep up with Apple every few years.

for what you want 2 pc's if you can get 2 OS at one pc... that's really great.... if I can dual boot then I will buy a MAC with Intel processor and then buy windows vista and that's it I have 2 OS running in one pc... is like killer 2 birds with one shot... don't get too noise about "ohh I thought Mac was for ppl that hate windows" that's kinda lame and kiddy..... Has different things that you can't do with windows same as windows to mac.. so if later they make dual booting more stable then I will go for it... for now I will stay with my windows base pc.

Boot Camp sounds like a good option but windows just sounds like a pain waiting to happen.

I think apple is going to add a way of opening windows executables on a mac without the need to install windows, to make life easier for everyone.

Here is why some one would run XP on a mac: if you are going to school as a music student you need OS X. But you also need some software that only runs on XP such as My Math Lab. That's some dumb ass software that my college uses. Plus if you commute to college XP is good for games to play on your breaks. I have a 5 and a half hour break twice a week and it is to far for me to go home.
