Free iPod Nano! That's right, you can go right ahead and call KeyBank and ask them to send that 1GB iPod Nano first thing! Well, after you open an account with them first, that is.

KeyBank currently has an ongoing promotion: anyone who opens a checking account with them by September 9 will receive a free iPod as a welcome gift. If you're not comfortable with walking around with a checkbook though, then you can go right ahead and just apply for a credit card by October 31 to be able to avail of the same promo.

We're not exactly sure about bank policies that they may have though, so it may be best to just check out their site or call them up directly. Yeah, it was just the free iPod that caught our eye. But then who knows, perhaps this can be the beginning of a beautiful friendship between KeyBank and you. If not, well, at least you got a free iPod. Not too bad, don't you think?

A big, big thanks to Montoge360 for the heads up!

I wanted to send this in like 3 weeks ago. It was in my newspaper. I just didn't know how. My parents were gunna do it. But my dad said there was a catch I don't recall what though. I think he said he'd have to put his check from work in that bank. Which Key Bank isn't our main bank. I'd have to say... Its to good to be true, it can't be that easy as just opening up a checking account.

» I'm waiting for mine.

I signed up a week ago, it's supposed to come in 60 days. You get a voucher in the mail then you can go to best buy or wherever they sell Ipods. My video ipod crashed with all my stuff on it, I was using it as an external HD.... Never do that, Ipods usually only last a year or two.

» me 2

I saw this on the newspaper and I called key bank: 1-888-539-1234 for confirmation. Andre the customer services at Key Bank told me it is true but you have to live in specific states. My state was one of them. It is FREE deal. Basically, you have to open free checking account with $50 and open credit card account or direct deposit. People thinks you have to maintain $25000 but this is not true. You have to open "Express Free Checking!!" You can open the account on line or phone but I decided to go to a branch tomorrow.
