Game publisher Akama has announced its intention to showcase the next expansion for its popular MMO game Dofus at E3 2006 next week, in addition to rolling out previews of upcoming releases.

Dofus is set in an almost comic fantasy world (with comic-book like graphics) with the usual elements, but bills itself as a "100% tactical game." Suited to younger players (age 12 and up), the game is free to download, although to access levels beyond 20 requires a "full membership" fee. There are no recurring subscription fees, however. One nice thing about Dofus is that it is one of the few new games of any kind that will run on the "classic" Mac OS 9.

The expansion that will debut at E3 is entitled The Dragoturkey Riders.  Additional titles that will preview at E3 include Focus-Arena and Wakfu. The latter is described only as having a "very challenging concept," and is scheduled for a holiday season release next year.

If you are planning on attending the Expo, stop by Booth #153C and check it out - who knows, we just might!
