Monster House Gets Blu-ray, DVD, and PSP Treatment |
Ó
Ever try to battle a giant house that was actually a monster? Well, that kinda thing's happened before with Link (inside a fish, a tree, and a lot of other places he shouldn't be wandering into), so it's no surprise that Hollywood would be trying their hand at talking about monstrous houses of sorts. This time it's Monster House, the Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg-produced animated movie, that's headed for more cramped quarters, as it gets screentime on the Blu-ray and DVD small screen, and the even smaller screen of the PSP (via the UMD, of course). As the story goes, you and your friend witness the house devouring things it shouldn't be devouring, like dogs, police cars and the like.
It's getting stronger every day, and wants nothing more than to drain the life out of every kid in the neighborhood. Luckily for the house, it's almost Halloween in the movie; unluckily for the plucky protagonists, they have to find a way to stop the house by kicking its butt Link-style and beating it from the inside.
The DVD includes a lot of extra features, such as additional commentary, pictures and additional games for the kids. The UMD one, on the other hand, is pretty nifty for its compact size, sporting both English and French language and corresponding subtitles. Of course, a French Steve Buscemi voice over could never trump the original, so you may want to keep the English settings on.
Monster House will be released on its various formats once October 24 whizzes by, just in time for Halloween. Try picking up one of the versions at your nearest video or game store. Prices are $29 for both DVD and UMD versions, while the Blu-ray one costs $39.

iv seen this movie and its very good blue ray whoooo
The stupid *****get who always goes "FIRST WOOT! I AM TEH LEETEST NOOBS!!!"
blue ray movies going to be more expensive than dvd's? that's a failure waitin to happen.. And if you can choose between the DVD and the UMD for the same price.. duh.. who would buy the UMD :P
$39 bucks for a movie? I'd rather buy a game. Why would I buy the UMD if the DVD cost the same? We'd rather convert. Haven't Sony learned anyting yet. They have to make UMD much cheaper than DVD for it to sell well.
if sony wants to bring back the movie UMD, there doing a baaaaad job at it. first they need to pack the UMD with alot of the dvd features, instead of giving a mindblowing choice between french and english and the price must be lowered. WAYYYYYY too expensive
