Even More UMD Movies This Week in Europe

Since the release of the popular PSP there has been some arguing about the UMD (Universal Media Disc) media format. To give all the people who don't own a PSP a quick introduction to UMD, it was created by Sony specifically for the PlayStation Portable and can hold up to 1.8GB of data (music, movies, and games of course).

Oh right, the UMD movies are also expensive compared to DVD's and aren't selling well. Wal-Mart has already stopped selling them and even more are expected to do the same. Last week, we told you about new releases of UMD movies already but even more have been released this week. Here's the list (including those of last week) for our friends across the pond in Europe:

I have a PSP and a few DVD movies, and I think theyre cool. Alot easier to use than ripping a dvd, then converting it, then putting it on a Memory Stick that costs a fortune. My local HMV has loads of UMD titles for a tenner each, and i dont mind paying that for them, as they're very good quality. You get what you pay for, quit whinging....

yeah i cant be assed with all that messing about ripping and compressing - the only reason that umds arnt selling that well is the stupid price they put on em - go to play.com and u can get loads of good ones for bout 6 or 7 quid. sorted

There are better programs to rip directly to mp4..Even those overpriced Memory Sticks make up for spending money on a stripped down failed format. Or better yet, just get a real PMP that can support better formats. PSP is a gaming handheld. :)
