Developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America announced today that Me & My Katamari has officially gone gold exclusively for the PSP. After the brilliant success of Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari, this hit series is finally going handheld. The same addicting gameplay has been brought over to the PSP, so now fans of the series can enjoy this game wherever they go.

Me & My Katamari is going to be one of those games that you can play for a minute or an hour because it's so simple to pick up, yet there's a lot of depth too. The PSP version has more customization options, new characters, and supports Ad-Hoc wireless play for up to 4 players locally. In this adventure, the Prince and his cousins must help the King of all Cosmos create new Katamari islands for homeless animals.

Will this require firmware 2.6? If so, I hope they get this working on 1.5 using the UMD loader or something.

I do recall finding the japanese version of this game available at a used game store awhile back, and I think it was reported as requiring firmware 2.0. When will this game be released in north america?

Ok...I think there may be a few bugs that need to be worked out for the comments feature. When I check the comments on any article after logging in, half the time I find that somebody else's ID is displayed in the "Your Name" text box instead of my own ID, or I get a message at the bottom of the comments stating that I am not logged in despite the fact that "Welcome, Aryn The Cat" is displayed in the upper right area of the screen.

Would the site moderators know anything about what may be causing this to happen?

I will indeed play this - and perhaps even preorder. Although that would be somewhat out of character for myself.

And also Aryn, I too have these issues. Remedy is required.

Cats cannot type.

Yes, we're aware of this problem (and various other problems with logging in and commenting) and it's got the highest priority on the list of bugs that need fixed. Sorry for the inconveniece... hopefully puberty won't last much longer. :)

(Altho, in most cases the correct name is left in the comment, regardless of what it says in the box)

Well, it's more expensive at GameStop ($40), but they include the collectible Katamari case for preordering...

i'm just curious if this game will be a success or a failure, due to the one analog issue.

I read somewhere that the japanese version will work with the new MPH UMD emulator thing. The only problem is there is no save support. I can not confirm this as I don't have the UMD to try it. I am sure that by the time the game comes out there will be a newer version of the program that wil solve the problem.
