killzone 3 and Killzone: liberation 2? - Image 1

Killzone 2 isn't even out yet and this pops up. Power Unlimited, a Dutch gaming magazine, reports that Guerrilla Games is already working on Killzone 3 as well as Killzone: Liberation 2 for the PSP.

The scan of the actual article is above, but it's in Dutch. And while I am totally fluent in Dutch (which is a total lie), some of you may not be. So I provide you with a translation courtesy of therandomgamer:

There are still some Killzone games coming. The devs told the newspaper "de volkskrant" that they are already working on Killzone 3. It's not a big suprise, but it's nice to know.

We've also heard that Killzone: Liberation 2 is being worked on and will come out in 2010. Then there's the question what the third GG team is working on...

If GG does turn out to be working on these games, it's really no surprise (as the magazine said). With a popular franchise like Killzone, they'd be crazy not to. Of course, this is still a rumor for now. Besides, even if they are working on it, we probably won't see it for some time yet. Killzone 2, on the other hand, is coming out in just a few days. You ready?

....

These rumors always pop up when big releases are imminent. Same was it with LitteBigPlanet, Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2.....

-being silly-

Where can I find the Killzone 3 demo?
by Darkshneider - 2009-02-23 10:14:22
*following your silly steps*

Connect a Gameboy Color to an Atari Jaguar and then naviagte through iTunes to download it. Simple.

Rumor??

THIS. IS. THE TRUUUTHH!!! *lame* Anyway, it was confirmed on the message boards quite a while back that they were already working on KZ3. I highly doubt any of this is a lie anyway.
by akadewboy - 2009-02-23 10:58:31
Of course they're working on it

These games take years to make. It's not a surprise.

bump

I'm stuck I hooked up the GBC to the atari jaguar but it said missing powerglove.nes file is either missing or damaged.

No way!

Did you use your floppy disk with the drivers?
by Achooist - 2009-02-23 13:09:13
^THIS^

Exactly. "Working," on a game could be as simple as coming up with ideas or the artwork. And if KZ:L2 is coming in 2010, I don't think KZ3 will be on the PS3, so they won't go too in depth ((Coding, animating, etc.)) but that's just my thoughts.
by milo128 - 2009-02-23 13:19:37
if they

already have the engine done wouldnt it only take like 2 years to finish
by Eclipze_ - 2009-02-23 13:42:21
Well

I think Killzone 3 would be on the ps3. I don't think they'll use a new engine so its possible to make this game way faster than Killzone 2 was made. I remember there was a 45 minute video interview type thing and the guy said there was already lots of ways they could go with a third game and that they have "ideas." Wont be surprised if this game (if actually being worked on right now) releases late 2010 or 2011.
by hush404 - 2009-02-23 13:56:16
umm

"Working on" could mean they're jotting down notes as to what would be kewl in a new game... it doesnt mean its something like alpha stage suff, damn calm down. But a liberation 2 is hella awesome.
by NarooN - 2009-02-23 14:29:38
Ks3 will be on the ps3.

They already said they can push the PS3 harder than they did with KZ2, what makes you think they'd just stop here?

Don't forget to attach the mega-drive with the Sega-Mega mouse since this IS a FPS. Remember, Genesis Does What Nintendon't.

You know, the name of that development company really reminds me of LimeWire's P2P network, and that's not a good thing.
by Stealth! - 2009-02-23 16:53:53
hmm

No surprise, I mean after killzone 1 they continued making the sequel and the first game wasn't as great. Killzone liberation was a good PSP game. So again no surprise, they'd be foolish not to continue KZ.

These rumors aren't hard to believe

Or surprising. Halo 3 was being worked before Halo 2 was out, Gears of War 3 has been in development since Gears 2 was out, work started on MGS4 a few weeks after MGS3, etc. Game devs don't really get breaks, they complete one game and immediately jump to the next (maybe a 1 or 2 week break as reward, thats it)
