Recently, a Coke commercial has been making rounds on the net (credits go to 14catorze) as it featured Grand Theft Auto (or Grand Theft Auto featured Coke, whichever way you want it). If you're looking for some high-speed adrenaline-rush action (yep, it seems like your guy is on a sugar rush because of Coke), you got it. However, this one has a nice guy ring to it: give Coke to a random guy, help someone lift his baggage, catch some purse-snatcher and return it to an old lady.
Sounds like GTA with a nice guy twist? Maybe. In any case, you'll be checking out, so without further ado, here's the GTA-Coke commercial for your viewing pleasure.

This is, by far, the worst Coke commercial in history. Also, everyone looks too plasticy. Where's all the detail? And this isn't necessarily a GTA parody, either.
This cheered me up, awesome. Much better than the other coke commercials.

it was made to look like GTA, 9 what are you talking about? look at the map in when it starts, and how it says downtown, just like GTA. anyway its a good commercial, its funny and people will remember it. not like pepsi commercials

Okay so...
A) most coke commercials suck
B) everybody looks plasticy because its imitating the look of a game you feckwit, not frvking photorealism
C) Of course its a bloody GTA parody....its not like its one of the biggest (if not THE) biggest selling games of recent years and every single thing was an homage to it. The way the shopkeeper automatically put up his hands when the dude walked in.
You'd think american commercials would be dumbed down enough for even the dumbest of dumbs to get them but alas...you'd be wrong...right Blueagh?

Yes its a spin off of GTA, and the coke turns the bad ass GTA dude into a friendly person who helps deck bag snatching dudes.

what a nice commercial, it touched my heart. i thought that the commercial is a violent one, because it has a gta style (especially stopping the red car) but when hr gave the person a cola i was touched. NICE commercial.
Yea this one is pretty good, but my favorite coke commercial (well, pepsi) was one of a little kid who went up to a vending machine with some change, bought a coke and set it down, then buys another one and sets it down next to it, then he stands on the cokes... puts more money in... and reaches the pepsi with the added height of coke
Coca-Cola ads try and make their product look appealing without ever focusing on the product itself. Pepsi's ads are almost always have a very blatent "coke sucks so drink our product instead" message to them. In my entire life I don't think I've ever seen Coca-cola release one anti-pepsi ad. The fact is, nether company actually has to run any kind of ads. People are going to drink coke and pepsi, the brands are forced into our collective minds the first second we take a sip of soda in our lives. Coke's approach to ads works better IMO. They don't need to tell you that coke is better then pepsi, they just need to remind you that coke is coke and you should be happy that it exists. 50 years from now some kid is going to watch this ad on some coke internet archive and be able to instantly relate it back to a certain era, probably while sipping down a coke.
I would also like to add that I HATE Pepsi. I have no problem with Pepsico or it's various other products, but the soft drink itself tastes like bitter ass.
i think the taste is inferior to coke butr also...crucially it is the way they promote ther producty. its always the ;latest famous singer or movie star whereas coke always makes great adfs, like the christmas time coke ads...theyre great.

I saw this as a preview at the theaters for the movie Step Up on Friday. Hilarious! A whole bunch of people were like "What the F uck?!" towards the end, made me crack up more! By the way, Coke commercials don't suck! I especially like the Coke Machine one (what really happens inside those Coke vending machines)!

That's a funny ad, showing just the opposite of what a GTA player would do.
This ad is hilarious and uses the GTA theme in a very clever way. What you see is the last thing you would have expected.

I gotta say, most of these responses are pretty immature. THis was a great commercial, great timing, and you never quite knew where it was going. I didn't find it funny but it did make me sorta happy to see coca cola trying to appeal to gamers.

Pepsi Ads suck and are forgetable? the Michael Jackson Pepsi ad where so big they where in TV Guide! (unless you forgot that) also Remember the Pepsi Challange, during that period Pepsi sales over took cokes, by alot, which resulted in coke changing is product to "new coke" which tasted horrible and allowed Pepsi to gain a larger market share.

Uh, yeah...I don't think it was supposed to be funny. It had more of a "feel good" air to it. Personally, I thought it was great. It's kinda cool to see a GTA charachter's (presumably Claude) good side and, while the "drink coke and become a model citizen thing may not make 100% sense, I think that it was awesome.
