Golf groups usually come in foursomes, but Electronic Arts is letting that little unwritten rule slide with the announcement of the new artists contributing songs to the upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 game. Five artists will hit the links with Tiger, down from the traditional one-song-per-artist mentality.

The soundtrack this year will feature a mix prominently of electronic music and...Dave Matthews Band. The combination may seem a little odd, but according to front man Dave Matthews, they've hit the sweet spot.

“This is the first time we’ve had a song in a videogame, but it seems appropriate because we’re all fans of Tiger and EA Sports. When we were recording ‘Stand Up’ in the studio, everyone had this reaction that it reminded them of sports. So I think it was the only song that would really be right for the game,” said Matthews.

Joining Dave Matthews Band in the game will be the bossanova-infused beats of Washington D.C.-based Thievery Corporation, Irish DJ and go-to soundtrack guy for Steven Soderbergh David Holmes, across-the-board electronic tunes of Thunderball, and sultry cocktail-hour songs from Supreme Beings of Leisure.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 will be available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube this September. EA is also working on a PC, PSP, and Xbox 360 version of the game. The game is rated E for Everyone.

The following is a list of songs featured in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06:

Dave Matthews Band Stand Up (For It)
Thievery Corporation Holographic Universe
Thievery Corporation Revolution Solution
Thievery Corporation The Supreme Illusion
Thievery Corporation Warning Shots
Thievery Corporation All That We Perceive
Thievery Corporation Un Simple Histoire (A Simple History)
Thievery Corporation Libration Front
Thunderball Golden
Thunderball On The Sly
David Holmes Tub Scene Part 2
David Holmes Foley
Supreme Beings of Leisure Golddigger
Supreme Beings of Leisure Under The Gun

mirror conspiracy is their best tho. but yea, they're like lo-fi electro, but cosmic game is really diff since it's a lot of collabs, so they go from dub to indie back to their lo-fi roots.
