Samurai Warriors: State of War Better than Dynasty Warriors? |
Ó
Sounds familiar, eh? It should since it's the revised version of the game Dynasty Warriors. The Dynasty Warriors game for PSP was revised due to its flaws in design that hindered players to experience the game. There was also the issue of the previous game lacking in story; it required the player to focus just on his strategies to defeat the enemies.
The action in the State of War (released March 7, 2006) is good, and the story is entertaining at the start, but that's that since you'll get bored easily with them. You get on to your strategy of finding the enemy camp and doing hand to hand combat. The tricks you could use against the enemy (like paralysis, poison and other attack charms) are enough to get you through the game. Mass killing is also an option.
If you're in for some drama in the storyline other than just the usual justification of the mass slaughter you'll be undertaking in the game, then this is a good enough game for you. Even better if you liked the Dynasty Warriors.

downloaded it and played it once, seems very similar to dynasty warriors. but theyre both made by koei, right? im prettty sure about that, miiiight be wrong, but w/e. in that case, aduh theyre the same, possibly one better than the other
gaunlet legends > both those games
yay I'm a coward
what firmware does this use?
It's a lot better than DW.
Not so sure about Samurai warriors, but I know that Dynasty warriors is heavily based on a semi-fictional/non-fictional account of a famous era of Chinese history, and boasts many important people from that time. The games have very different stories and though the gameplay is similar, feature really different stage design. The first dynasty warriors game for the PSP was really poorly made, but it's looking like they're fixing all of that for the sequel that is still in the works. The Samurai Warriors games have been pretty fun, but I'm sure it won't be as good as the next Dynasty Warriors game due out for the system
