OutRun 2006: Coast to CoastOutRun 2006: Coast to Coast is the arcade racing game to beat on the PSP. This title is from Sumo Digital, developer of the OutRun2 and OutRun2 arcade versions of the game.

There are several game modes that will definitely be enjoyed by up to six gamers who can all play at the same time via the ad hoc or infrastructure options. Time Attack mode requires you to race against a ghost car that represents your best time yet in the entire game. The Heart Attack mode will require you to take mini-missions that will be instructed by the passenger. This will include having to overtake other racers, hitting ghosts and collecting hearts, among others.

The OutRun mode of the game gives the gamer options in the 15 different stages of the game. When roads branch out, turning left would mean choosing the easier route while choosing the road on the right leads to harder stages.

OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast will appeal to most gamers - they'll really feel as if they're playing an arcade game in any of the 13 officially licensed Italian Ferraris.

OutRun 2006's not perfect however - sometimes the graphics overload and the game freezes for about half a second; some stages are really troublesome to navigate; plus gamers can't use the 328 GTS and the F430 unless they buy them first on the PlayStation 2 version.  These caveats aside, though, the arcade racing PSP version OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast is the best racing game for the PSP yet released.

There is infrastucture mode.

"So, OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast is gorgeously challenging, its handling system delicately balanced, and the game is both technically impressive (even loading times are reasonable) and intensely entertaining – not least when battling against up to six human players via the excellent infrastructure and ad hoc options."

Ridge Racer ... The Champion

Burnout legends is a disgrace comparing to the original XBOX one. You wanna talk about racing games. Ridge Racer is the best.

d

i agree totally, ridge racer is by far the best racer on the psp to date~ unrivalled graphics and the best combination of ridge racer drift-style racing ever made by namco~ my first psp game and still the best~

ridge racer

ridge racer is old and dated namco just fleece you. outrun coast to coast is graphicley better and better gameplay

Good Racing~

xbox 360 ridge racer has nothing on psp ridge racer~ the graphics though shiny on the box give no sense of speed and doesnt handle well in terms of any style, be it drift or simulation or arcade~ good racers to check out~ Rock and Roll Racing (SNES Classic - 3d-esque racer on SNES!) Cyber Formula GPX (SNES Classic - anime based racer) Need for Speed 2 SE (PC Classic - McLaren F1 Road car) Need for Speed Most Wanted (PC Black edition - Supreme current-gen online racing fun) Gran Turismo 3 (PS2 Top title - more efficient than GT4) Burnout 3 (PS2 Addictively better than BO4 - personal opinion) Ridge Racer (PSP Top title - overall does what it set out to do best - even though Burnout Legends is good, the lack of graphical quality hinders the fast paced racing theme) Try'em out~~~

Ho hum~

Outrun C2C is not graphically better, plus unsmooth graphical input is a severe let down on a portable console, especially when playing multiplayer~ Gameplay is same old same old for Outrun games, as too is ridge racer, but atleast ridge plays amazing at what it does whilst outrun has plenty issues (read the reviews)~ Oh, and that just reminds me... Look at the review scores dude, Ridge Racer kicks Outrun's ass~
