Taito has announced that the "Ultra Puzzle Bobble Pocket" will be released on March 23. Price 5,040 JPY.

Ultra Puzzle Bobble Pocket is the latest title of the "Puzzle Bobble" series. The player will shoot bobbles from the launch pad on the bottom of the screen, to hit the bobbles in the same colors dropped down from the top of the screen to clear them. Once the bobbles reach the deadline near the bottom of the screen, the game is over. When 3 or more bobbles with the same color are gathered together, they will be cleared, and any bobbles attached under them will also drop down.

The game modes in this title are separated in single play and V.S. battle. In the single play mode, there are 8 modes: a "Classic mode" which requires you to go through all the 300 rounds; a "Ghost puzzle mode" in which you are not able to use the bouncing feature to clear the puzzles; a "Blind puzzle mode" in which you are not allowed to know the colors of the dropped bobbles; a "Seesaw puzzle mode" in which the player will have to shoot down the bobbles like a seesaw; a "Shot puzzle mode" in which the player must clear all the bobbles with only one shot; a "Running launcher puzzle mode" in which the launch pad is always moving horizontally; a "Time warp puzzle mode" in which the moving speed of the ticker on the launch pad and the bobbles are randomly changing all the time; a "Mix them up puzzle mode" in which the colors of the bobbles are changing all the time.

There are also 8 modes in the V.S. mode: a "VS classic puzzle mode" in which the player can jam the field of the opponent; a "VS ghost mode" in which there are no walls for bouncing; a "VS color puzzle mode" in which the players all work on the same puzzle and the one who finishes it faster wins; a "VS blind puzzle mode" in which the players don't know the color of the bobbles above; a "VS running launcher puzzle mode" in which both launch pads of the 2 players are moving horizontally; a "VS time warp mode" which the moving speed of the ticker on the launch pad and the bobbles are randomly changing all the time; a "VS mix them up mode" in which the colors of the field bobbles are changing all the time, a "VS count puzzle" in which the 2 players all shoot in the same field.

The VS battle modes are supported via the AdHoc wireless function of the PSP.

I think that settles it really..

Taito should take notice. Only the weird Japanese girls who hang out on the subway will buy this game.
