With PSP Go's launch date just around the corner, some of us are still wondering if Sony's latest handheld has something new to offer up its sleeve. Well, luckily the guys from GameSpot UK got hold of the PSP Go and revealed a nifty new save state feature.

The save state feature will allow you to save a game at any point and return to it later when you're ready to get back into the game. Here, take a look.

PSP Go will be released on October 1.

Why don't they bring that game pausing thing to older PSPs? IRshell has a similar feature, and there is that game state plugin. We know it's not the hardware that does it.

it'll be on the newer firmware... or not.

i'm sensing lots of exploits once the psp go is released due to this feature. hehe. sony implanted themselves on the homebrew scene i guess.

Thats what i thought too, i guess sony can't make any good feature of their own and had to copy DAX's ideas. I wouldn't be suprise to see more copy of the homebrew scene being made by sony because they are not copyright. As most of the homebrew were freeware and not patent.

go supports: only 1 game paused at a time, with only one state.

dax pspstates supports: unlimited games paused at a time with 10+ different state support!

Nice to see that Sony has been paying attention to the HomeBrew Community, and incorporating features that were great additions to the console. Can't wait to see what other HB-features they will add later rip later.

Well Koller has stated in the past that they're keeping a close eye on the "community" and what they were up to.

OK, it's a weak version of DAX's formiddable code, but at least it shows they're taking notes.

I have to admit, the device does look quite sweet out of the box, but no UMD means no imports, and that just makes it a pretty impotent bit of tech imo.

I really like being able to do this on my emulators, but wasn't aware there was a plugin for this w/ regular games.

So... Where, pray tell, may I find DAX's plugin to do this on my Slim & Phat? Search feature on here sucks.

How is it that they release ofw with 3 brightness settings and 4 if you are plugged into an outlet presumably indoors in the shade, but when you are outside in the bright sunlight and glare you are stuck with only 3? I like cfw because it gives you 4 settings regardless and there are plugins that bring the brightness to 5. Which may never be achieved on the PSP Go.

# Yeah, Sony is really copying DAXkupomogli 2009-09-17 11:22
Emulators have had save states for the longest time.

Anyways. It's not really a "state." It's more like a quick save rather than using the PSP's hold button where the PSP is at the lowest power setting.

Save states are very very convenient.. I wonder if they're going to be the future? Because a lot of people don't like backtracking (Dead Rising comes to mind.. although I got used to it)
