Videos: PSP 3000 and Slim crash on Tiff |
Ó
Meanwhile, the second video shows the same Tiff File crashing a PSP Slim & LIght with a motherboard TA 88 v3 MOBO on OFW 4.01.
Although this is not a clear exploit yet for the still-impenetrable PSP 3000, it definitely is an undeniable vulnerability. We'll keep you posted on more updates on this one. And thanks to
Southsidexz for the tip!

A few folks have been investigating this and it doesn't seem too promising, but it's still a bit early to call it for sure.
This will be a lot easier for people without Gripshift. That's saying if it even is an exploit.
even if it does turn into an exploit, will it offer anything that we can't already get with gripshift?
this is more like a glitch/bug then a exploit
This is interesting. The only problem is do the PSP's currently on store shelves have 5.00? I certainly hope not lolz. >_<
This should be an interesting development to watch ...
it's be sweet if we could get another version of HEN of this or the gripshift exploit. Who knows, maybe we could use these two in conjunction with each other to help enable an m33 installer. i think the gripshift exploit can do it by itself, but who knows, maybe this will be able to help some how if its turned into a proper exploit. I LOVE how we're going back to the good old days of exploits and what not... so many people with psp's have never even HEARD of a downgrader lol...
Yeah... and they never even heard about HEN.
This could just be a crash instead of a tiff.
btw, I just updated my bro's TA 88v3 mobo to 5.02 :X
Hearing the word "HEN" really brings me back. I know this may sound foolish but I hate the new kids that were not around when it was known as the golden 1.5 era, I'm sure you two remember. Oh man remember when 1.5 was everything? If you had anything else you were not *****, lol.
I mean in forums now, people that don't get it want to know how to use pandora, which is fine you know whatever. But I'll never forget how it all started, 1.5 and using DevHook, homebrew may not have been what it has now... or maybe it was even more-so then, depends how you look at it. Anyway, I remember when I first heard of Dark-Alex, was when I actually visited this site and read along the lines of how a person invented the Recovery Mode. I thought the recovery mode was possibly the most impressive thing ever made for the PSP (At the time, before popsloader, because that was so big this site practically lagged out when it hit), because at the time you had programs that flashed your PSP, but if something went wrong, you were done.
Anyway, sorry to make such a huge post, but it's awesome running into people that had theirs since the beginning.
This also works on official firmware 4.05

i remember those days..
When you would have to run devhook just to play the latest games. i remember doing the 2.00 downgrade and even the 2.00 FW LEAK off of the sony servers.. about 1 month early.
but i am apart of a Main PSP forum and there is tons of new users who are barley jumping in..
anyone remember Xflash??? One of my all time favorite programs for the PSP.
ahh... thoze were the days.. of psp modding..
XFlash, I may be wrong, is that the program with the black background and very DOS looking? Or was that the sleeker program that whenever it was flashing a file, a meter in the bottom right corner would turn red which would make me think something went wrong. Either way, flashing before Dark Alex was not a trial and error process, haha, I lost one PSP making too long of a coldboot. I walked into crappy Gamestop and said, "Give me the most beat-up PSP you have." hoping it was a 1.5, haha.
Yeah we won't need to go out and buy gripshift to hack the PSP. It'd be like the days with the 2.71 firmware.
yeah i remember the good times of downgraders, which is how i got to 1.50 to install custom firmware....i used the ole lumines downgrader....good times...
psp owns all!
This will lead nowhere. Don't get your hopes up anyone.
My PSP-3000 freezes alot when im browsing the internet and playing some older games *cough*gripshif t*cough*
