Will North America ever get Monster Hunter Portable 2ng G? Capcom's defintiely keeping mum about it - but that doesn't mean we can't look to other sources for some form of answer. And via Siliconera, that's just what we have today: sighted on the US Patent Office is a trademark for "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite".

Aside from the obvious proof that Capcom filed for the trademark at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, note that "Freedom" is included in the label. That's a clear sign that this trademark is intended for the Western market since previous Monster Hunter titles on the PSP contained the "Freedom" label too.

So what is it? If Capcom's previous survey is anything to go by, this certain "Monster Hunter (Freedom) Unite" will be using some form of Linking system which allows PSP users "to play with other players across the world via a PS3 connected to the internet."

Right now, I'm not sure which is better: getting a North Americam release of 2nd G or an entirely new Monster Hunter title. What's your bet? It's anyone's guess right now, really, but fact of the matter is... Capcom's definitely cooking something for the US!

» I always thought they would just throw out another expansion. So I'm betting on 2nd G in NA.

Have you ever consider the UMD space available? I sometimes wonder if the game would require more than one UMD if they made it for PSP from scratch for once.

now if MHP2G doesn't get a downloadable update to allow the PS3 connectivity then that means I'm getting MHFunite. The only problem is I wanna convert my japanes file to english......don't think i'm too willing to start from scratch

Awesome. Just got MHF1 a few months back and skipped out on 2. But I'd jump right to this if it were ever released.
