Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins - Image 1Video game news site 1UP reports that a revised version of Capcom's Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins is being prepped for a release on Sony's PSP handheld system.

According to the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the revised version of the game will be released in Japan under the title Goku Makaimura Kai.

1UP notes that the game will be more similar to the series' arcade format. Continues will be limited and the ending will only be attained after completing the game twice. Magic will also be a charged attack in the new game.

Deviating from last year's PSP exclusive, which had players gaining more and more abilities such as the double jump as the game progressed, the new revision will reportedly have the double jump ability at the outset. Players can also pick up new weapons and play each stage in different orders.

No North American release date has been set for this new title. Last year's Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins saw release outside Japan, so this new revision could also see a similar release. Importers can also choose to pick up a copy when it hits Japan on August 2.

» Oh, you Philistines...

The first one got me to buy the PSP...and now I'm going to *have* to buy the revised edition. My love/hate relationship with Capcom continues, but the love always wins out.

I'd be *hyper-geeked* if they included actual new stages or something like that.

so is this gonna be the same stages and bosses or a new game?

» re

why make a revision when they could just make a new game and why do they keep releasing so many more psp games in japan where its doing the worse there?

» Sweet comment;

Well, since qj.net is a pro-ISO discussion site;

True or false, you will download this game when it comes out?

I voted up your posts, please do the same to mine, so that people can see that they are free to discuss ISOs here.

» Well...

Because Capcom is a Japanese company...

It's hard to say. I have as of yet to download a single ISO, but understand the allure. I still keep buying UMDs, though most that I buy are $10 or less, brand new. I bought UG+G for full price at $40, though, IIRC. Don't know that I'd be willing to pony up what will probably be $50+ to import the redux of the same game.

If they release it stateside, though, I'd buy the UMD. Always want to support the good stuff.

» That was not me!

The post with all the profanity was not me the real Mr. True.

For a number of reasons:

-I like to be reasonable in my posts. All that swearing did nothing but probably give that guy an ulcer

-My posts ALWAYS mention downloading ISO's (because qj.net highly engourages it, i have learned)

To the other Mr.True - please do not use my name in the future. (I'm sure this is the same guy who posts as DARKALEX (unregistered) )
