UK Charts: Wii Fit debuts, third largest video game launch ever |

Europe's infatuation with Mario games has been broken for Wii Fit, which debuted on first place in the video game charts for the week ending on April 26.Chart Track reports that Wii Fit raked in GBP 16.3 million (US$ 32.4 million) in its debut week, making it the third largest video game launch in terms of value.
Miyamoto was right on the money with Wii Fit. Its record is only topped by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which took home GBP 24.2 million (US$ 48.18 million) when it launched, and Halo 3, which earned GBP 16.9 million (US$ 33.6 million).
Mario Kart Wii and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, as well as Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, have all had to settle for a spot lower to make way for Wii Fit. Here are the rest of the top games in the UK for the week ending on April 26:

Looks like a good week for the Wii....

There are plenty of real games. Take your pick. If you don't like any of them or you believe ALL of them are not real then I suggest selling your Wii. It's obviously not for you and the games are primarily going to be for the same target audience. I base that suggestion on the majority of your negative comments regarding the Wii. Which makes you another perfect example of a naysayer.
By you using the term "blunder" you are implying that a mistake has been made in the numbers.
Please provide proof of the mistakes.
Secondly, as for what the Nintendo fans will be saying about GTA4....I'm sure a vast lot of them will be saying things like, "THIS GAME KICKS ASS!!!!" Especially since a vast lot of them will be playing it.

I wouldn't call Wii fit the third largest videogame launch ever. It's not even a game, more like "crap exercise motivator" in line with the thigh master and other infomercial crap. LOL, Halo 3, San Andreas, and the new GTA 4 will beat anything Nintendo had. Also, Nintendo's "big" releases are done for the year, so sales will be very different in the next couple weeks.
Smart gamers will be buying the AAA games for real next gen systems very soon. Nintendo is left with nothing but crap, HA HA! Since the "quality" games for the Wii are done for the year, Ninty better stop faking the shortage soon.
Millions of disapointed Wii owners are selling their systems on ebay. The Wii is the most often sold console on ebay, both new and used.
They are no doubt frustrated by the lack of "hardcore" games, general lack of game quality overall, and all the better games that go to the real next gen systems.
The Wii has no "quality" games coming out for the rest of the year! What better reason to sell it!

There's 3254 new and 458 used Wii systems being sold NOW.
Maximum listing is 7 days without extra fees, the Wii has been on sale for 74 weeks, so at that rate, there has been 33,892 sold used and 240,796 sold new (just in America.)
Not the best accuracy, but a close approximation that gives a grim picture on how unhappy people are with the Wii.

Sales figures only tell how many people buy into hype and purchase whatever they're told to by advertising. It does not tell how many purchasers are satisfied. Judging by GAME sales, the Wii has the worst customer satisfaction. Satisfied customers have plenty of quality games to choose from and therefore buy more.

Actually it's 1549 used 360s now and only 325 new. The 360 has been out a year longer, more systems are older, and new HDMI models have been released. It shows more people who buy new 360s actually PLAY them rather than sell them immediately on ebay. The Wii is a console not even worth opening to 2487 people in the US just this week!
The XBOX 360 continues to sell better than the Wii in North America, partially due to Nintendo's greed in giving priority shipping to nations with higher currency.

The Wii is OUTSELLING the 360 and has been for a LONG TIME. In fact the Wii outsells the 360 so MUCH that it PASSED UP total sales figures even though the 360 had a huge head start.

There is only one spike where the 360 sold more then the Wii and that was back in August. Aside from that MORE WII'S ARE SOLD THEN 360's. Also more PS3's have sold then 360's FOR ALL OF 2008.
After 9 months of the Wii being on the market they sold MORE units then Microsoft sold 360's.
