Peter Moore - Image 1With Peter Moore's move from Microsoft to EA Sports, people would naturally wonder how other gaming companies would react. Would all things be cool, or would stuff hit the fan? Sony's stand: Good luck, Peter Moore!

Jack Tretton, Sony Computer Entertainment America's (SCEA) top man, gave a statement saying "We wish Peter the best of luck in his new role at Electronic Arts and look forward to working with him." This was made not long after Microsoft's announcement about Moore's resignation. He will be replaced by Don Mattrick as Microsoft's corporate VP for entertainment.

EA Sports titles have enjoyed successful sales on Sony platforms throughout the years, and both companies look forward to continued good relations with each other. With Tretton in high spirits and looking forward to great things, one can't help but be a bit excited as well.

Enjoy your last year of good EA games. Now all the EA games are going to crash and get the red lights of death everytime you try and play one.

That was a quick and rapid response from big ass Sony boss...

Brown nosed and with a sleazy smile...

Can't afford to have an enemy at that position, eh!?!?

Something Moore isn't used to. That's how a real executive should act unlike Moore with all his ignorant and childish remarks every time he was asked something about the 360, he would blurt out some ignorant derogatory comment about Sony.

After the ps2 was released dreamcast was bound to fail, the situation has completely changed. Re-think your remark. Silly boy.

This has really come as a bit of a surprise. After all the PS3 bashing Moore has done, it will be interesting to see him on neutral grounds!

i doubt it will be neutral. He will probably tell them to put more detail/ more content in EA games just like how madden is 60 fps on microsoft when it can easily be done with the ps3

Sony has no idea what professional courtesy is.

They are hoping EA games will not be bad on the PS3 anymore. They are wrong. They will be worse than ever, ha ha.

# It only seems that way because you're a fanboy Manny...Guest 2007-07-18 05:45
..so you're overly sensitive to any negative comments which appear to be directed at Sony, no matter how mild they are (and Peter's comments are usually quite mild and subtle, unlike the XBox 1.5 comments from Ken Kutaragi).

Anyway, why not give us some examples of Moore's so-called "childish", "ignorant" and "derogatory" comments about Sony Manny.

In fact, try to provide something which matches these recent comments from your hero Jack Tretton;

http://ps3.qj.net/Tretton-interview-PS3-is-a-gourmet-meal-Wii-is-a-lollipop-360-is-the-unreliable-cook/pg/49/aid/97814

"....[As for the other two consoles], one [Wii] is a lollipop, and I'm too old for lollipops. The other one [Xbox 360] I get sick from once in a while because the cook isn't always reliable."

Tell me, what was that you were saying about professional courtesy again? :P

So stop being blinded by your own fanboyism. Companies in competition always take pot-shots at the opposition, where some individuals are more subtle in their attacks than others. That's business, that's the way it is, so it's rather stupid to take it as seriously as you do. :)

"i doubt it will be neutral"

Actually, he can, it's his job now, even if he favours the 360.

"He will probably tell them to put more detail/ more content in EA games"

Ah yes, the usual conspiracy theories. Hence if any EA sports game comes out that appears to be better on the PS3 than the 360, then it's because of the awesome power of the PS3, but if it's the reverse, then it's because Peter told them to make the 360 version better. *rolleyes*

"...just like how madden is 60 fps on microsoft when it can easily be done with the ps3"

If it could be easily done, then it WOULD be done. It couldn't be done on the PS3 because restrictions in the hardware for THAT software meant it couldn't maintain a consistent 60fps, therefore it had to be 30fps.

Obviously, as the devs get to know the PS3's hardware better, things will improve, but that's for the future. The 360 IS better than the PS3 in some areas, and the PS3 is better in other areas, so depending on the software, sometimes the 360 will be best, other times the PS3 will be best, but most times they will be about the same (for multi-format games).

When was XBOX failing? Did sony tell you to "insert unreliable hardware comment" here?

So what if another company gave him a better job offer.

When Ken Kutaragi left sony did it change anything? Didn't he create the playstation?

I swear you make a big deal about nothing.

The 360 has never been failing, and never will be. Sony fans can delude themselves all they want, it won't change anything.

The Kutaragi comment was a good example. The PS fanbase even gave him the title "father of the PlayStation" because that's essentially what he was, and nothing happened to Sony when he stepped down. Now PS fans go crazy with "Zomg MS is teh fail cuz Robbie sold some stock" or "Xbox is failzing cuz Moore left for a much higher-paying job at EA". Ridiculous

Hardware failure and failure in the market place are two completely different things. The fact that you equate the two makes YOU the "kid who never goes to school".

Moore isnt Sony's biggest problem!

its DAVID REEVES, he has been stabbing Sony's back for few months now screwing most of Sony's business plans. Sony should restructure SONY EU and replace those traitors with silent ones.

I saw an interesting quote from someone at EA that indicated last year Madden on 360 was only 30 as well. It took them a year to get it up snuff on that hardware, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull it up on PS3 in another year.

LOL! And now you're acting like the big mouth coward you claim he is!!!

Sure, you're so tough aren't you, and there's no place better to demonstrate your 'toughness' than sitting on your fat a$$ typing out a message to some stranger online! LOL!

Please, anybody who acts like a tough guy on the Internet is almost certainly a scrawny, pimply-faced nerd who spends every waking hour in his parents' basement. I would gladly say things like this to your face, as I'm sure many others would.

And even if you're not a scrawny, pimply-faced nerd who spends every waking hour in his parents' basement, I carry a gun. Who are they going to call the ambulance for again?
