Seems like Capcom is making sure they have a wide open chance to bring Last Ranker to audiences outside Japan. They've apparently filed for the game's trademark in both the US and Europe.

There's no official word from Capcom yet, but the trademarks are welcome news for those who want to have a stab at the company's latest RPG. Those who can't wait, on the other hand, can import a copy when it's released in Japan next year.

Last Ranker is a new PSP RPG revealed by Capcom last week. The game lets players control Zig, a soldier (called a "ranker") whose goal is to make it to the top by beating all other contenders in a fighting tournament styled after those in shounen anime shows.
