X-Ray Finishing Move and Eternal Champions (Genesis)"Whoever designed the finishing moves for Eternal Champions must have either been the most dangerously insane tenant in an asylum or a real-life supervillain. Virtually every single one of EC's Vendetta, Overkill and Sudden Death moves are, even today, arrestingly visceral... To name a few...a character getting crushed by a brightly colored clown car...one of the clowns honks a toy horn repeatedly, sending out spurts of gore. There's one where a shark chews a character for an excessive amount of time... And the most extensive "pit" death sequence... where a character falls through no less than four rows of axes and buzz saws to have their skull shatter on the floor far below. Deadly X-Ray move stands out for its effective combination of morbid elements... victim reappears screaming and skinless... is engulfed in flames. More screaming and broiling. Victim explodes through the glass doors in a gigantic wave of guts and liquid gore."
