So. What does the final TGS attendance tally read? Why... it's over nine thousaaaand!!! Oh, hell yeah, it's way over nine thousand indeed. CESA, the guys who organized the event, released the final number of attendees for this year's Tokyo Game Show.

Compared to last year, TGS 08 has gotten about a thousand more attendees, thus setting a new record for highest turnout in TGS history. Let's bring up the numbers!
  • TGS 07 total: 193,040
  • TGS 08 total: 194,288
To break down the numbers from TGS this year, the first two days (the one restricted only to press and business outfits) had a lower attending population by 10,690 vistors compared to last year. The next two days, however, (the ones dedicated to the public) showed a higher turnout by an increase of 11,938 visitors.

» FIRST!

this is all great, but what of the announcement of the 'frelling ace up its sleeve' capcom promised would make your balls 'pucker up'? Was that not supposed to be revealed during TGS?

Has it already been revealed? I haven't heard of anything great from Capcom, but i may be mistaken...

» data about PAX is incorrect

The PAX attendance figure is turnstile - they count a person attending for 3 days as 3 people - which is a perfectly acceptable way to measure convention attendance. BUT as such it means that PAX does not hold the largest turnout in North Amercia - that would be Gen Con Indy which has over 28,000 unique attendees and over 95,000 turnstile attendees.
