Codemasters TOCA Race Driver 2006 is an updated and expanded re-release of TOCA Race Driver 2 for the PSP which includes extra tracks and vehicles, as well as the career mode previously only seen in the PS2 version of the game. The screens below might not look visually stunning, but consider the fact that there are a whopping 21 cars on track at any one time and the game supports up to 12 players of the PSP's wireless LAN!

# Best racing sim for PSP?vargusvictor 2006-03-12 14:27
I have been playing the previously released European version of this game for a while now and I must say, It's definitely the best, most in depth and varied racing game to come out for the PSP by far (yes it beats colin too IMO). This game has a bit of every aspect of auto racing in it, and all I can say is why the **** don't developers start packing this much into all PSP releases!?! To see a revamped version of it come out in the US, even though it's coming out way too late for my tastes, it's still going to be hard for me to resist buying it despite having already bought the European version. I wish they would release a downloadable update for the Euro version that would add all these updated tracks and cars for free (or even for a small fee) to save me some money, but I know that ain't gonna happen! I sincerely hope this game have Infrastructure? 12 people would be awesome, but without infrastructure I'll never have that many people to play against!

Developers in general need to start taking risks with the PSP, it seems they're afraid of spending PS2 level budgets in a handheld game that might not sell well. I predict because of the dirth of quality titles on the system, a lot these top tier games in March (Syphon Filter, Daxter, Mega Man etc) will sell very well.

Great, another racing game! Here I was worried someone might try to release something original, but I'm relieved to see yet another fine racing game for the PSP.
