Not one, not two, but three new Tales games have been revealed care of V-Jump magazine in Japan, and all three of them are being planned for release later this year (or at least in Japan). Well, not all of them are entirely new, but regardless, it's still new for that specific platform...

Now a former Xbox 360 exclusive, Tales of Vesperia has finally been announced for the PS3. Ever since before, Vesperia's only been released for the 360, with Namco Bandai often saying that other versions on other platforms was always a possibility. Today, that possibility becomes official. What's more is that the PS3 version gets an extra playable character called Patty Fleur.

Moving on to other new tales now - err, Tales, rather - a new PSP Tales is being planned also for this year. As it's being described, it looks like Namco Bandai's very own version of Dissidia.

This new Tales of VS takes various Tales characters across the franchise into an all-out brawl. Yeah, think Radiant Mythology, except it's more of a fighting game (with RPG elements). It's going to have multiplayer support for four people - as opposed to Dissidia's two - and so far has the following characters confirmed:
And if that's not enough, there's also the new Wii Tales game called Tales of Graces. Not much info was revealed for Graces other than it being the first main-line Tales games to hit the waggler's console. The story revolves around a guy who seems to have lost someone dear and vows to protect the people he loves (yeah, that'd be Formulaic Plot Outline #4).

» Which is why it doesn't matter if you have a PS3 or 360

Reason why I sold my 360 and kept my PS3. I like the controller better, all the better games are pretty much multi-console, and I don't have to pay 50 a year for online or buy an add-on or batteries for the controller to use it.

» I think it's true.

I don't think it's a joke, cause PSPhyper made a small post last night about it and has been steadily updating the post:

Yeah Tales of Vesperia is actually one of the better RPG the 360 had exclusive. For those that are still waiting for the Squeenix games to come out for PS3 are in for a terrible surprise.

Yeah players that can only afford to buy one system should think about which they need to stick with.

The Good: 360 is good for modding. PS3 is good for Blu-ray and blu-ray ripped movies and free online gaming.

The Bad: RRoD is still a b****. PS3 games will require money to get and some are released later than 360 versions.

» RPG GOODNESS

So I'm waiting for vesperia, white knight chronicle, & the tri ace rpg. Plus I didn't even get Valkyria Chronicles yet (I know, what the hell am i waiting for)

Don't all games "require money to get"

The 360 is free if it's modded and so is the PSP and Wii(not sure don't own one yet). PS3 still no sign of great improvement(hac ks,mods). Even if it is hackable or modifiable I probably will spend money on the games. Don't feel like buying a Blu-ray burner. I only DL crappy games anyways.

» Damn

Make me regret getting a xbox 360 for those so called "exclusive". Should have wait for it.

» cool!

The Tales series are good. But I think I've only played one or two of these series. Could barely remember. And yeah, this sounds awesome. Can't wait for the release.

» Yay!

RPG love for Sony.

Don't get me wrong, I love shooters, but I'm an RPG guy and I've been starved of them on the PS3. I don't care if it's multiplatform, Vesperia is an RPG and I need my fix of them. I need to pick up Folklore and Valkyria Chronicles along with this when it comes out (I'm sure it will be localized).

Glad my PSP is getting lots of RPG love though. Phantasy Star Portable, Dissidia, Tales of VS, Birth By Sleep(Yeah, it damn well better come to NA...if not I might cry) will keep me busy for a long time.

» oh cool

I didn't get a chance to play ToV on the 360, even though I heard it didn't sell great. But hey, not more people will enjoy the title, like myself who didn't get a chance to play it. The Tales of Versus game sounds pretty cool. I'll pick it up if it hits the states. Just like Dissidia. ^_^

» there is

no piracy on the ps3. Thankfully. I don't want my purchase to become useless when people don't buy games. Already went through that with the psp.

» um

Dissidia is not an RPG. Its a fighter with kingdom hearts like mechanics. You can level up your character but not in the same sense as an RPG with an open world and deep stories. Think a bunch of fan fiction slapped on top of a final fantasy fighting game.
