THQ cancels Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed for PSP |

It's been a very long time since we last heard anything regarding Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed, but a recent announcement now explains why this is the case.A THQ representative has confirmed that the PSP port of the game has been cancelled due to control issues. Here was the rep's explanation of this matter during an inquiry by IGN:
Basically, the PSP version was cancelled because of control issues DAH! Big Willy Unleashed was designed by a Wii developer specifically for the Wii. When it was ported over to the PSP, the controls simply didn't translate well, and instead of pushing out the product with translated controls, it was cancelled.
On a related note, DAH! Big Willy Unleashed has been available on the Wii console since February this year for North America, and was eventually available for Europe by March. That's all the information we have for the moment. Visit us again in case we run into any further updates.

We don't need any more *****ty games. Release something good, or nothing at all.
I'd take one more *****ty game over Nothing that we've been getting. I usually use the Gamespot "New Release" feature to zoom weeks ahead to see the stuff coming out, there's not one crappy game coming out, 'cause there are NO games coming out. Lego Batman I think is the closest, which will be sweet, because Batman is awesome. Instead of canceling this game because of control issues... why not just make the controls compatible instead of scrapping the whole thing?
"why not just make the controls compatible" i think that's what they were trying to do. but i'm betting that the Wii version is programmed so specificially for the Wii that, in order to do so, you effectively have to write a new game. collision detection, movement/camera control, menu/inventory system... etc. that's a lot of stuff.
Sounds more like a porno title than anything. BIG WILLY unleashed. ummm yeah real suitable for kids. Who the F, do they think they are. Big willy indeed.
I wanted this 2, besides i had known that they cancelled this game on PSP for a long time, now all of a sudden its news?
I hate when QJ post crappy ass games. why dont they get off their lazy ass and catch up with homebrew just like PSP-hacks doing.
we never get games...only once every thousand years, and not all of them are good... the DS get more games than the psp... whenever they make a game thats supposed to be for all consoles, they make em' for all the console, even DS! except the psp
Its these damn ports that are mostly *****ty. The psp needs more fresh games, like fresh as in "from scratch". crisis core for example. (Monster hunter would be awesome like that. 16 bit mode is the suck.) I'm glad they gave up on only a poor control scheme. Katamari is barely playable (psp).
I was really looking forward to this game. Destroy All Humans is one of my favorite series. Excellent voice acting and funny as all hell. One less reason to own a PSP in 2008. :/
PSP-Hacks is mostly full of n00bs like you. Most of the homebrew released there are just some bad LUA stuff. I'm not saying that you can't make good LUA stuff, but most of the ones exclusively released there are not accepted by other sites, so they go to PSP-Hacks. Good luck to you and them.

We're talking about a game that encourages you to go around anal probing, disintegrating, and generally killing humans. I don't think the DAH! franchise is suitable for kids to begin with. Teens perhaps. As for Teens, Big Willy Unleashed is kinda tame compared to some of the stuff I heard in high school.
