The redesigned PSP has a name: PSP Slim and Lite |

If you've been anxiously waiting for the newly redesigned PSP, then here is a tidbit of information you may want to know.
Yet another source says that the new PSP model has a name other than its original designation of PSP-2000, adding to the ranks of sources that refer to the new PSP as the "PSP Slim & Lite" (other sources call it the "PSP Slim" while others call it the "PSP Lite").
The image to the right shows an SRP of €169.99 or about US$ 235. It will be available in either Piano Black or Ice Silver when it comes out. A quick comparison of the two units show that the PSP Slim & Lite is 94 grams lighter than the older PSP and 19 percent slimmer.
In addition to this, it has been said that the newer units has improved battery life and video display.
The Sony PSP Slim & Lite looks to be a very beautiful product and looks primed to hit the market by storm. That said, keep checking back here for more news on this product and more.

"improved battery life and video display." What Video display improvements exactly?. I could care less for the PSP slim all in all but if it has a new screen with a half decent *****ing response rate then thats a plus. Play a dark game on the PSP and look at that lovely ghosting.

We call the redesigned PS2 the PS2 Slimline, so how about PSP Slimline, or Slimline PSP
I think the PSP:Robert Reed would be a better name for the new model. He was probably slim and lite when he died of AIDS. Or they could call it the PSP:AIDS . Again calling it the PSP:Slim and Lite is hitting the consumer over the head that's it's a new model. I think the PSP: Robert Reed, is more subtle.

They announced a TV Receiver shortly after they announced the PSP slim. Maybe he's referring to that?

What? Only 94grams lighter than the original PSP? That´s about the weight of a chocolate bar. You won´t even feel the difference, so where´s the true improvement...exept for now the redesigned PSP must be a pain in the A55 for your thumbs.
Im still sticking with my old psp. Because i don't think that you can install custom firmware in the slim psp.
Anyone who says you can't install custom firmware on the slim psp is a *****ing idiot. It'll be on it in no time.

sony says the piano black and ice silver slim and lite psp will come out on september 10 and the white psp will come out on october 9 with dark viader from star wars printed on the back of it. they said the ice silver psp will come with daxter the game and a 1GB memory stick pro duo and famliy guy movie for $200.if you want the ice silver slim and lite psp with just the psp it would cost $169. the piano black slim and lite will cost $169 with just the psp also.the white psp will come with extra stuff inside just like the ice silver and will cost $169. they said the slim and lite psp's without the extra stuff will cost $169
