So. Had your fill of Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch and A Tear of Vermilion, eh? Do you find yourself wishing you could have Legend of Heroes on your beloved handhelds once again? Well Namco Bandai must have an uncanny sense of telepathy because they have just announced that The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean will be serenading your PSP's soon!

Yeah-huh! That's right, the third title off the Legend of Heroes series is currently under development and will be hitting shelves next year. Set in the Heroes' universe, Song of the Ocean will let users take on the role of Forte, a young musician from Numeros Empire as he sets out to discover a long-forgotten song of enormous power left behind by a legendary composer. Join Forte and his group of wandering musicians as they go on lyrical adventures that span over 50 hours of gameplay.

With a hundred characters and a unique pet system, this RPG will surely let fans of the series sing their hearts out in joy as they encounter harmonious havoc (say whaaat?) in search of that all-powerful song. The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean is slated for release January 2007.

A 3D RPG, really bad. REALLY bad.

I only

Played the first game for about two hours and just couldn't get over the horrible controls. Trying to walk into anything would have me sliding down the wall. It made it very hard to find things in bookshelves and pots and crap. Finding the offering to throw in the water took me like 30 minutes because I kept sliding around the chief's fuggin table. Then the battle system seemed incredibly weak when it finally came time to play. I don't know...can anyone tell me if it gets better? If it's worth picking up and finishing and playing the sequel (or really the prequel) Prophecy?

Best RPG on the PSP, in my opinion. Nihon Falcom rulez. Can't wait for Sora No Kiseki.

I haven't played...

The first one yet, but the second one was awesome. I was a little disappointed with the battle system at first, but as you get later in the game, it gets to be a lot more fun. The battle system didn't matter much to me though, as the story was amazing. I immediately went out and bought the first after I beat the second game (a couple of days ago), and after finals week is over, I'll be working my way through the first title. You can be darn sure that I'll pick the third one up the day it comes out though ;) Oh, and Although you do slide along the walls a lot, you do get used to it, and it doesn't become a problem at anytime (at least in Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch) ;) Great game though!

Tear of Vermillion

A Tear of Vermillion (the first one) is the only one i've played and I loved it..the graphics were pretty vibrant..it immediately caught my eyes..and the story was pretty good..I'd have to say this is the best rpg series..for the psp technically the only:p but yeah..i'll be gettin this as well

3d isn't always the best

I don't think 3d rpg is better, it always comes down to gameplay and story, I played the moonlight witch, and it was awsome, really good and reminded me of the good old days, it's much better then poplocoros. the best rpg on the psp are this and ys6. am waiting for a new Ys even if its a remake of old ones. all of you RPG lovers who are crazy about Sqaure Enix might want to check what falcom has, it's not as graphically advance as sqaure but its much much better in. only downside that many of their best titles are made only for japan.

buddy you know that you can use some of the characters of the previous two as long as you have saved them in the end, personaly I never tried that feature simply cuz I only played the white witch only.
